The Mountalnettes clinched the victory early by sweeping five of the six singles matches. Coach Ed Ghiy used the doubles to give some of his younger players some experience. Sarah Maner, Mercedes Smith, Ronda Shytles, Kathy Brennan and EUzabeth McClU won singles nutches and Pat Durham and Roxanne ’Tate capped their number one doubles match. “All the girls played exceptlanally weU,” noted Coach Ed Ouy. “I was especially pleased with Sarah Maner, and I know she was real pleased to get that win. “I think the victory will help the whole team,” he went on. ’"They’ve played real well all year but have lost a lot of 5-4 matches.’’ ’Ihe Mountalnettes were scheduled to go to Wilkes Central Monday and re turn home Thursday to host Lenoir In their final regular season match. Purpose of the camp is to teach and develop tennis skllla so that each person can Improve his or her playing abUlty. The camp will be operated for per sons aged nine to IT. Four sessions are scheduled; June 18-17; June 20-24; June 27-July 1, and July 6 8. Bach session will run Monday through Friday from 8 a. m. to 4:80 p. m. The camp Is limited to 60 students per session. Camp staff will consist of college coaches and players who have teaching experience In Individual and group Instruction. The Belmont Abbey College tennis facilities inchids six laykold courts, ball throwing machines, and Indoor and outdoor back boards. All other athletic facilities. Including the olymplc-slze swlmlng pool, weight training gym and baaketbsOl courts, will be available to students during their off hours.
