South Point forced the third game In the best of three series by outacoiinjg the MountaineerO" 13il‘0* Wednesday hlghT‘'‘^if' Lancaster Field. The Red Raiders Jumped out to a quick 84 lead off lefty Steve Lancaster, but the Mountaineers got a two-run h<»ner from Bruce Valentine and a three-nin homer by David Ray ROblnson In the second inning to take a 74 lead. Ohe Red Raiders battled back to take a 9-7 lead after five Innings, and aiien they scored three In the top of the seventh for a 12-7 cushion, it looked like they had smooth sailing. But Raider ace Scotty Shops ran Into some trouble In the bottom of the liming and Coach PhU Tate had to call on two more pitchers before escaping with a 13-10 edge. Wilson reached on an error to get things going, and after Shope fanned Thn Whitaker, Scott KUl s reached on an error. Shope came back to fan Danny BoUn, but then hit Andy Loftln with a pitch to load the bases. Alter Shope hit Bruce Valentine to force In the eighth run, Tate caUed Tom Haynes from the buUpen. But he walked Jton HaU and Bryan White to force In two more runs and Tate called Dizzy Richmond In from third. He worked a 3-1 count on Robbuon before Robinson bounced back to the mound to end the game. The Mountalneera finished with only four hits, three of them coming In the seven-run second In ning. But KM'S lack of hitting vtraan't the difference. The big difference was IS errors committed by the sloppy KM defense. Only two of South Point's 13 runs wore earned, and one of those two came on a second Inning homer by BUl Stowe. ITie Red Raiders had 13 hits, with Mitch Painter, Shope and Richmond getting two each. Besides Valenune’s and RoWnson’s homers, the only other KM hits wore singles by White and ElUs. U.S. GRADE A 10 LBS. UP W-D BRAND U.S. CHOICE SONEIESS ROAST ROUND TIP... E.
