Program Saint Matthew’s and Resurrection Lutheran Churches Joined the more than two hundred Lutheran congregations In North Carolina Sunday to launch a national program of the Lutheran Church In America. Strength for Mlsslan, as the program Is entitled, will challenge each parish of the Lutheran Church In America to examine Its faith and Ufe and then to provide the oi^ortunlty to respond to the urgent need of the church on a local national, and global basis. Tbe observance idanned for Sunday In both Saint Matthew’s and Resurrection Churches Introduced Kings Moun tain Lutherans to the overall objectives of Strength for Mission. The concept of Strength for Mission was created by the grassroots mem bership of the Lutheran Church In America. Church conventions In both 1874 and 1976 reqmnded to resolutions and proposals for the need of such an emphasis. The 6,100 ccngregatloiis of the L. C. A. will spend the remainder at 1077 In the ’’Education and MoUvaUon” phase.
