Grandparents are Mrs. Josephine McAbee and the late Russell McAbee and W. E. Pearson and the late Maiy Pearson. Girls Stater Highlights UNC-G Week Lori Jenkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gharies Jenkins and delegate to Girls State from the American Legion AuxUlary Unit 166, presented highlights of her week at UNC-O as the program for Thursday night's meeting of Unit 166 at the American Legion buUdlng. A covered dish supper was served at 6:80 p. m. The Jenkinses were present as special guests. Mias Loretta Huskey, also a delegate to Girls State, was unable to attend. A letter from Miss Huskey sUtlng appreciation for sponsorship at Girls State was read by Miss Jenkins. Mra Orangrel Jolly, Immediate past Unit president, presented awards which were presented to the Unit at the recent state con vention in Charlotte, among them first prise in the National President’s Project for school bus safety, second prise for the annual scrapbook, first prise (units over 60 members) in the State President’s Project, a plaque; award to the unit for contributing |1 per member to the project, N. C. SchooU for the Deaf; and Go- Getter gold pins to members enrolling 10 members or more. Unit President Elisabeth Stewart, the outgoing state prealdent presented plaques to both the Unit and Post 166 for their ajppcrt and cooperation during her term of service. Outgoing Post Commander Rick Moore presented Miss Stewart a handsome engraved plaque “for doing a great Job’’ as state president during 1976-77. Mias Stewart recognised local members who served during the year with gifts, including Mrs. Stonewall Jackson, scrapbook chairman, Mrs. Jackie D.
