Page 2A—MIRROR-HERALD—Thursday, October 20, 1077 Act On three hems Adjustment Board Meets The Kings Mountain Board of Adjusbnent acted on three requests, two dealing with mobile homes and one with a residential lot, at Wednesday mor ning’s meeting at city hall. The first request came from Mrs. Baibara Mabe to park a mobile home on her father's lot at 108 N. Desd St. Her father Is V. F. CBunpbell. Van Birmingham com mented that "It goes against the grain, but I suggest we treat It as a hardship case and give a sbc month permit with option to renew.” The "hardship" aspect Is that Mrs. Mabe Is pregnant and her husband works out of town. She requested the trailer permit In order to be near her family during this time. Board members Bob Myers, Rev. S. T. Cook and Paul Owens voted In favor of the motion. In the second Item, a request to park a mobile home at 1207 W. Ck>ld St. Ext., the board voted against such action. • The request was made by Mrs. Geneva Sisk, who HOSPITAL LOG explained that the W. Gold Ext. property Is owned by Henry Lewis. Mr. Lewis Is an Invalid and Mrs. Sisk takes care of him. She wanted to move the mobile home on the Lewis property so she could be closer to her chsu-ge. Tbe request was denied following a lengthy discussion. In which It was pointed out that under the city’s zoning ordinances two mobile homes on a single lot constitutes a trailer park and as such Is subject to all the rules and regulations. For this reason, there was ob jection to the move by one area resident. In the third Item, Ronnie Whetstlne was given ap proval for his request for variance on zoning for residential lot width and setbacks. Whetstlne owns two lots on Llnwood Rd. which contains two dwellings. He purchased both prior to the passage of zoning ordinances and It was pointed out he Is protected under the "grandfather clause.” Whetstlne wemts to sell one lot with residence and keep the second. In the absence of Dickie Tate, who Is In the hospital, A1 Moretz was appointed to serve as temporary chairman for the meeting. .4 M < A- Photo By Gary Stewart FRIDAY WRECK — A tanker and car collided Friday at noon on Highway 74 near Bethware School, resulting In $2,000 damages and Injury to the car’s driver, Rtmdy Scott Gibbons of Route S, Kings Moun tain.
