Logan, Jr. of Kings Mountain, were conducted Sunday at 4 p. m. from First Baptist Oiurch of Shelby by Rev. Oene Watte rson. Mr. Logan, retired state parole officer, former businessman and former Cleveland Obunty Jailer, died Friday In Cleveland Memorial HospltsU. He was a native of Cleveland County, son of the late Cleveland County Sheriff Hugh A. Logan, Jr. and Lula Herndon Logan and was husbsuid of the late Aylene Walker Logsui. Logan was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Shelby and be longed to the church’s Keenagers. He was also a member of the Gideon Sunday School Class, the Bi4>tlst Men's Orgtuilza- Uon, the American Legion for 33 years, the Forty and Eight National Guard Unit, the Cleveland County Law Enforcement AssocUtlon, the aeve- land County Historical Association and Masonic Temple 202 for 00 years. An Army veteran of World War I, he was sdso a veteran of World War II and a retired member of the Naval Reserve. He was a graduate of Shelby High School and a graduate of N. C. State college. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. David M. Phillips of Shelby, Miss Msuy Randolph Logan of Raleigh and Mrs. John B. Kennedy of Andrews; three brothers, Fred G. Logan of Pompano Beach, Fla., Evans Logan of Ka^a^lla and Charles O. . Logan of Gvden City, N. Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Yates McSwaln of Shelby, Mrs. Dean Duncan of Lake Norman and Mrs. Dovle L. Penney of Wallace; and eight grandchildren. The family has' designated memorials to Cleveland County Historical Association and American Cancer Society. MBS.D. M. SHELBURNE Funeral services for Mrs. DoUle M. Bhelbume were held at S p. m. Sunday at Cook Funeral Home In Bristol, Va. by the Rev. George Wampler and burial was In a Bristol cemetery. Mrs. Shelburne, 84, 908 Sharon Dr., Kings Moun tain, died ’Thursday In Kings Mountain Con- valesoent Center. She was a native of Bristol, Va. Survivors are three sons, Lewis Shelburne of Colombia, Mo., Frank Shelburne of Washington, D. C. and Norman Shel burne of Kings Mountain; and four grandchildren. JO ANN HOPKINS Mrs. Jo Ann Jones Hop kins, 37, of Shelby, wife of Donald Hopkins, died of In juries sustained In an automobile accident Aug. 8 in Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral services were conducted Saturday from Roswell Funeral Home In’ Roswell, Ga. Mrs. Hopkins Is a former employe of TOAY Stores In Kings Moimtatn. Mr. Hop kins Is employed by Keeter Ford of Shelby. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Cora Jones of Kings Mountain; her son, Randy Smith of Shelby; her daughter, Joyce Rogers of Albany, Ga.; one grandsort; her sister, Paula Broome of Kings Mountain; and her brothers, Jimmy, Johnny, Robert, and Barry Jones, all of Kings Mountain, and Floyd Ssuiders, Jr. of Kings Mountain.
