Readers will enjoy trying out some of the recipes from this book, which also gives die history of Harrison County, often called the “Cradle of Indiana,’’ since the first capltol was located at Corydcm, and since the first Con stitutional Convention was held within the coimty. PUMPKIN BREAD 12-3 c. flour ^ t cloves ^ t clnnamcm H t salt 2 well-beaten eggs 1- 3 c. cold water 1 c. strained, well- drained pumpkin iVi c. granulated sugar 1% t. nutmeg hi t. baking powder 11. soda 2- 3 c. raisins 2-3 c. com oU Combine, sift all dry ingredients Into large bowl, add beaten eggs, raisins, cold water, com oU, pumpkin, mix well, pour into two well greased pans. (heed cheese 1 c. mushroom soup 4 c. rltz cracker crumbs 1 tbs. salt or to taste 1 chopped onion hi t. pepper 2 well beaten eggs 4 c. chicken broth Cook hen In plenty of water until meat Is tender, remove benes, cut up meat, place meat In bowl, add Ingredients, stir gently but well, pour Into 2 11x14 Inch baking dishes. Bake 43 minutes 330 degrees.
