The jayvees, coached by Becky Summltt, will be re building but the veteran KM mentor still looks for a good season. Most of her players are newcomers to basketball. The Mountalnettes finished with five points and trailed champion Shelby, Ashbrook, Crest, R-S Central and Newton- Oonover. Pat Durham and Roxanne Tate were the ' only KMpIayers'tO make It' past the second round. They lost out in the third round Monday morning to the top-seeded team from the northern division, Spears and Petrie of Newton-Ccnover, 6-2 and 6- 1. EUsabeth McGill and Brldgette White won first round singles msdches and Kim Gladden and Sara Mauney won their first round doubles match before being eliminated. The sixth plsu:e finish pleased Coach Ed Guy, who loses only one player, Durham, off his team which finished B-9 In regular season Southwest S-A Conference play. "R (the finish) was as good or better than I ex pected,” he noted. "We finished ahead of some teams from our conference that had better regular season records."
