The project Is sponsored by the Kings Mountain Fire Department and KM Ministerial Association to help needy children at Chrlstnnas. SINGING SERVICE A special singing service is scheduled at Kings Mountain Pentecostal Holiness Church, 508 Branch St., at 7 p.m., Sat., Dec. 10. Singers from several area churches will perform and the public is invited to attend, ac cording to Rev. Mark Roberson, pastor. Scott Howell, React’s public relation diairman, said, "Our organization is still looking for additional members. Any qualified CB operator interested in Joining may contact React at 7394101 or by writing React, P. 0. Box 605, Kings Mountain.” Howell said React members will be happy to discuss the program with interested citizens during the hot dog fund raiser at the Depot Center on Dec. 17. React is a volunteer or ganization chartered by the national organization. Members work closely with the city’s police, fire and rescue departments by patroling the entire community nightly and assist motorists with directions and emergency aid by monitoring the CB emergency channels. The Kings Mi^tain unit is the oifiy’^'Chartered REACT organization in Cleveland County. The local unit is sponsored by the Kings Mountain Kiwanis Club. DEATHS WORTH MOREHEAD Funeral services for Worth William M(H:diead were conducted Wed nesday at 4 p. m. at Temple Baptist Church by The Rev. Frank Shirley and the Rev. Lewis McGeha and burial was in Mointain Rest Cemetery. Mcnehead, 66, of 224 Walter St., died Monday evening at home. A retired Margrace Mill employe, he was a deacon at Temple Biqitist Church and had served as church treasurer for 16 years. He was the son of the late Mr. and Birs. Eddie Guy Morehead. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Ethd Shehan More head; a son, Jesse William M<»ehead of IQngs Moun tain: six sisters, Mrs. Jim Butler, Mrs. Harold W. Wilson, Mrs. AU Shehan and Mrs. Bill Gettys of EUmiboro, Mrs. Guy Pitchford of Hollis and Mrs. Charles Dysart of Avondale; one brother, .Giiy Mqre^d of EUm- boro; and'two>''’gn'ad^ «>(<>' children.
