Kinga Mountain. Liated in
critical condition following
aiygery at Charlotte
Memorial Hoapital ia Linda
Martin Webb, 26, of 912 Second
St., Kinga Mountain.
County Coroner Bennett
Maatera aaid Putnam was
pronounced dead at the scene
bom multiple head injuries.
Putnam waa driving the car,
a 1970 Chevrolet registered to
Jack Martin of Center St,
Kings Moimtain, father of
lAida Martin Webb. The car
left the road on the curve and
struck a tree.
The Kings Mountain Rescue
Squad responded to the call
and rescuers worked for 30
minutes to free the victims
bom the tangled wreckage.
Reacuera rushed Linda Webb
to Kings Mountain Hospital,
then to Charlotte Memorial
Hospital where she was taken
immediately to surgery.
Masters said Trooper
was unavailable for comment
at presstime, is listing the
fatality as an accident. He
said the spot where the ac
ddent happened is on Riral
Paved Rd. 2034 about three
miles west of Kings Mountain.
It happened about 1:30 a. A.
Wednesday.
"There were no signs of
skidding,” Masters said, “so

offices in Gastonia, Hiehory and Lenoir,

Broyhill was formerly an executive

Lenoir. He Is a graduate of the University
of North Carolina at Chapel HOI with a B

was awarded an honorary Doctor of
Laws degree from Catawba College
