About City Codes
Do You Have Questions?
City Codes Director A1
Moretz said his office is
receiving complaints from the
street department concerning
curb pickups.
The complaints concern tree
limbs, Moretz said.
“Under the city codes
(Section 10-29), it is spelled out
how citizens are dump such
things as tree limbs, cuttings
and the like for pickup by city
crews,” Moretz said. “If
citizens have questions on the
codes they should contact the
rr^ ' * ' ■ ^
codes office for information."
The code states:
(A) Tree limbs, cuttings,
shrubbery, etc., of more than
one load will be hauled at such
times as trucks are available;
provided, that such limbs,
etc., are cut in lengths that
can be handled by two men,
and placed on the front corner
of the owner’s or tenant’s
property nearest the street
right-of-way. Lawn trimmings
shall be placed in boxes or
cans for pickup.
■■ »
(Bl ’The city shall at no time
remove or assist in the
removal of tree stumps
resulting from the clearing of
property of any kind. It shall
be unlawful for any person to
place or deposit or to other
wise cause to be placed or
deposited any tree stump in
the city dump at any time.
If Kings Mountain citizens
have any question concerning
city codes, ’The Mirror-Herald
will be pleased to publish the
code information.
