Swoffords Note 25th Anniversary Mr. and Mra. Roy Swofford of Shelby were honored on their 36th wedding annlveraaiy Sun., Feb. 13th, at a reception hooted by their children at their home on Rt. 8, Shelby. The Swofforde are formerly of Kings Mountain. Mra. Swofford, district Avon represen tative, la the former Ruth Crawford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Crawford of Kings Mountain. Mr. Receiving with the Swoffords were their children, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hutchins of Newell, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Swofford at Bermuda, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Glover, Mr. and Mrs. Reid Skinner and Donald Swofford, all of Shelby, and three grand children, Tina Hutchins, Dena Sklnnere and Billy Also receiving with the couple and their children were Mrs. Swofford's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Crawford. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Davis of Shelby gteeted arriving callers and Mrs. Ken Crawford of Kings Mountain Invited them to register. Presiding at the punch table and silver coffee service were Mrs. Hal Gibson of Chesnee, S. C., sister of Mrs. Swofford. Assisting In serving were nieces of Mrs. Swofford, Including Miss Jenny GSbeon of Chesnee, S. C., Miss Susie Hargett of York, S. C., Mrs. Randy Robinson of Clover, S. C. and Mies Sherry Davidson of York, S. C. Mrs. Darmy Morrison of Grover said Mrs. Howard Robinson of Grover, sister of Mrs. Swofford, served the beautlfuUy-deoorated pale orange four-tier cake which was baked and decorated by Mrs. Swof ford. The cake, featuring a. fountain design, was topped with cherubs and orange blossoms. Overlaid with lace over Ecru, the refreshment Uble, highlight of decoration, held a diver bowl of bronM and gold daisies and tuUps. Silver candlesticks held Ecru ti4>ers. The annlvereary cake. In pale orange, was central decoration for die table. Punch was served from a ellver punch bowl and coffee was poured from a silver coffee ser vice. Mrs. Swofford received guests In a long beige gown featuring a jacket with handkerchief sleeves end all-over embroidery carrying out the pale orange floral theme of the served with punch, C‘'ffee, cheese-sausage bai:s, stuffed eggs wrapped In cheese pastries, and chicken salad Umbles from sSver appointments. A large crowd of friends and gueats called between 8 and 6 p. m.. Leigh Ann Barrett led the list of Candy Strqiers volunteering service with 38 hours followed by Cindy Black with 13 hours and Tina Acuff with three hours. Haml Sexton, with 38 houra, followed by Helen McGinnis with IT hours and Margaret Stoterau with 13 houra led the Uat of Hospital Auxiliary volunteers.
