Supporting roles are played by Brenda Crosby, a Shelby Star reporter, spinster teacher Rose mary Sydney \^o sees her last chance at happiness slipping away and Les Farfour as Howard Evans, her storekeeper "friend boy." Madge’s younger sister Millie Is portrayed by Susan McCarter, and Reid Strickland has the role of her wealthy suitor, Alan Seymour. Danette Rosenberg plays Flo Owens, the mother of the two glris; and Ina Towery portrays Mn. Potts, the next-door neighbor.
