Following a breakfast, Jane Choate, Catherine Abernathy and Br- mlntrude Mullen, three Llncolnton teachers, presented an Informative program — progreaa through achievement In the Individual education program In our schools. The teachers e]q>lalned the needs, goals and evaluations In this federal program, which was begun In 1977 to deal with handi capped children and ex ceptional children. Following a brief busi ness meeting, Oenevleve Matthews, chairman of nomination, presented a slate of officers for the coming year. President — Wilma Selby; vice president — Jane Falls; second vice president — Jen Williams; recording secretary — Ruby Ooff; corresponding secretary — Margaret Baird; treasurer; — Sara Roof; Parliamentarian — Helen Neal. Susie Howard, director of Region 7, presented Maude Carter the president’s pin. Mrs. Carter Is retiring president. Attending the meeting from Kings Mountain District Schools wore Margaret Baird, Betty Oamble, Susie Howard, Elisabeth Oamble, Ousale Huftstetler, Frances Lohr, Margaret McOlnnls, Christine Ramseur, Aimle B. Roberts, Char lotte Shuford and Margaret Spratt. Mr. Shockley, native of Kings Mountain, Is son of John Shockley and the late Mrs. Shockley, and Is employed by Oates Shell Service Station. Hts hobby Is golfing.
