William McDowell escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her In marriage. The bride's wedding gown was a formal design of can dlelight polyester peau fashioned with a slightly raised waistline, Ed wardian collar and long sleeves ending with wide cuffs edged with narrow self rulle. The full, flounced skirt extended Into a Chapel length train. Her Chapel-length veil of silk Illusion was bordered In Alencon lace and at tached to a lace-covered headpiece. St. Kings Mountain, Phone 739-4781 iWIC Honored On 76th Birthday Married In Candlelight Ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Thomas Kllburn, who were wed Sat., Apr. 22, have re turned from a wedding trip to Florida and are residing at 1208 Bush River Road In Columbia, South Carolina. The Rev. Gary L. Bryant heard the couple pledge their wedding vows In a candlelight, double-ring 4 p. m. ceremony In First Presbyterian Church. Scripture reading was the 13th chapter of First Corinthians and a special Wedding Prayer was used by the minister. “The Lord's Prayer" was prayed by all assembled. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. Darrell Austin, or ganist. Miss Frances McGill, vocalist, sang, "The Twenty Third Psalm” and "Bless This House” by Handel. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Charles Ballew, was given In marriage by her father. She wore an Original gown by Maurer of Candlelight satin peau, featuring an empire bodice embellished with Alencon lace overlaid with seed pearls and crystals. Ix>ng sleeves ex tending to points over the hands were fsistened at the wrists with covered but tons and were fashioned In Alencon lace with overlay of pearls and crystals. The full, belled skirt extended to a Chapel length train. The triple-tiered cathedral veil was of Imported silk tulle with each of the tiers edged In Alencon lace. The veil was fastened to a silk cap, covered with lace. The bride's mother designed and created the veil. A nosegay bouquet of roses, daisies, carnations, stephanotls, baby's breath and springerel fern was carried by the bride. White satin knotted ribbons adorned the bouquet. Lace encircled this Springtime arrangement. Miss Meredith McGill of Kings Mountain was the bride's maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Mary Kilbum of Columbia, S. C., sister of the bride groom; Miss Jessa Rabley, Mrs. Diane Capilos, Mrs. Terry Floyd, all of Columbia, S. C. Miss Valerie Humphries of Atlanta, Ga. and Miss Diana Williams of Charles ton, S. C. Serving as honorary attendants and presiding over the guest register were two cousins of the bride. Miss Julie Reeves of Simpsonvllle, S. C. and Miss Lisa Gosnell of Greenville, S. C. The maid of honor wore a Blanchl formal created with empire waist, flutter sleeves and a yoke of Silesta lace in “Iced Mint." She carried a bouquet of pink, blue and yellow carnations, ac cented with Springerel fern and baby's breath tied with white satin ribbons. The bridesmaids wore Blanchl gowns in “Greenspray" of a mat ching design to the maid of honor. They carried nosegays of all yellow carnations, tied with ribbons of blue, pink and yellow. Their bouquets were also accented with Springerel fern and baby's breath. John Ralph Maloney of Charlotte was best man for the bridegroom. Groomsmen were John Ballew of Chapel Hill, brother of the bride; Joe Soffera of Lexington, S. C., Jim Bozard, Mark Moore, Edward Owens and Wayne Kyzer, all of Ck>lumbla, S. C. Altar candelabra and window candles were lighted by John Ballew Euid Jim Bozard. The Sanctuary was beautiful In its elegant simplicity. GREGORY THOMAS KILBURN Mrs. Frances Hullender Blddlx was honored by her children with a birthday dinner Sunday at Lake Crawford. Mrs. Blddlx was 76 on April 27th. She Is the widow of the late R. C. Blddlx and the mother of ten children: six sons, Slemore, Qarence, J. W., Jay and Earl of Kings Mountain and Ernest of Bessemer aty, and four daughters, Helen, Bessie Childers, Betty Hughes and Pauline Short of Kings Mountiin.
