Harry Martin, In vestigating officer for KMPD, said that Bobby Dean Rucker, of Rt. 8, was working at the Bay Station when about closing time two black males entered the store and asked for a candy bar, Rucker reportedly told the officer. When they went to pay for the candy, they reportedly pulled a gun and asked for the money In the cash register. The subjects left on foot, said poUce. Lairy Wood Takes Post At Foote Foote Mineral Co. an nounces the addition of Larry W. Wood to Its Kings Mountain operations as personnel manager. Wood comes to Foote from Spectrum Textured Fibers where he also serves as personnel manager. A Kings Mountain native. Wood graduated from Kings Mountain High and Gardner-Webb College where he earned a BS degree In psychology and business administration. He Is active In Temple Baptist Church, was past president of the Kings Mountain United Fund and Is president of the KM Personnel Association. Replacing Wood at Spectrum Is Alex Mc- CkUum, who served as assistant personnel direc tor. McCallum Is a native of ^ eastern North Carolina Sind Is a graduate of Wingate and High Point Colleges. He Is a member of Temple Baptist Church and active In the Kings Mountain Jaycees. Summer Programs Set In Park pisuis are now complete for summer programs and activities at Kings Moun tain National Military Park. Beginning Sun., June 4, the Visitor Center and Battlefield Trail hours will be9a. m.to6p. m. dally, ■nie Visitor Center film, "Kings Mountain Turning Point In the South," will be shown every 80 minutes from 9 a.m. through B:80 p. m. The audiovisual program will be operated continuously throughout each day. On Sun., June 4, the park’s Living History program will be presented frx>m mld-momlng through approximately 4 p. m. This program will continue on Saturdays and Sundays (weather permitting) through Sun., Sept. 8. In this program participants appear In period dress and present musket and rifle firing demonstrations In ; addition to being Involved rtai the usual camp chores r. such as preparing, cooking, and eating the noon meal. Evening programs are planned for the park amphitheater, located near the Visitor Center. These programs will bo presented on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning Frl., June 9. The first program will be a live presentation, "Rebels from Two Wars.” fea turing a Revolutionary War soldier and a Civil War soldier discussing their experiences and equipment and talking with vUltora. It wUl begin at S p. m. Specific details on other evening programs will be announced weekly In local newspapers and notices wlU be posted In both Kings Mountain National MUlUry Park and Kings Mountain State Park.
