A series of evening meetlnf^ began Monday and continue next Monday. The evening meetings are set from 7:30-8:80. Two additional sessions at each school the day after the evening meeting have also been scheduled and these continue through next IViesday. Ronald Nanney, prin cipal at Bethware School, will host a meeting tonight at 7:30 to present an overview of the testing and an explanation of the report to the parent. The teachers will be In their classrooms to Issue the reports. On Friday Nanney will schedule sessions from 9:80-10:80 a. m. and again from 8-4 p. m. for parents unable to attend tonight’s meeting. Principal Jim Scruggs of Grover School has set his 7:80-8:80 p. m. meeting Mon., Jime S and his fbllowup sessions Tues., June 8 from 9:80-10:80 a. m. and again from 3-4 p. m. Bryant said "If by the last day of school the parent has not picked up the child’s test report. It will be filed In the cum- mulatlve folder until the parent comes for It.’’ Cookout h Cancelled The family cookout planned tonight by the lOngs Mountain Klwanls Club has been cancelled. A regular meeting will be held at the woman’s club building on E. Mountain St. at 8:48 p. m. as usual. The club will dismiss early enough for members to attend the Kings Mountain Senior High graduation exercises. The next meeting will be June 8 at noon at the Kings Moun tain Country Club. This Is a Joint meeting with the Rotary club. WSOC-TV will cover the meeting as part of a story on service clubs. Hinnant, Stamey Win (Begins On Page lA taxes. SANDERS Mrs. Ethel Dawkins Sanders, 88, wife of James Sanders of Pine Manor Apts., died Sunday In lOngs Mountain Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Oostner Funeral Home. Surviving, In addition to her husband, are two daughters. Miss Patricia Sanders of Bessemer City and Miss Sheila Sanders of the home; four sons, James Lewis, Terry, Tony and Calvin Sanders, all of the home; her mother, Mrs. Mable N. Dawkins of Bessemer City, six sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Adams and Miss Thelma Dawkins, both of Charlotte, Mrs. Mary L. Parker of Kings Mountain, Mrs. Dorothy Hughes, Mrs. Alice Sims and Mrs. Shirley D. Reid, all of Bessemer City; two brothers, David Dawkins of Charlotte and Theodore Dawkins of Bessemer aty; and one grandchild. PAULA. RAMSEY Paul Alexander Ram sey, 68, of 808 Fourth St., died Monday afternoon In VA Hospital at Salisbury after Illness of several months. He was a retired textile employe, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Logan Mayberry Ramsey. Surviving are two brothers, Lawrence Ramsey and L. L. Ram sey, both of Kings Mountain; and one sister, Mrs. Vera Bedsole of Kings Mountain. OSCAR MATHIS Funeral services for Oscar Mathis, 73, of 128 Ark St., who died at his home Monday after several years Illness, were conducted Wednesday at 3 p. m. from Macedonia Baptist Church of which he was a member. Interment following In Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. P. A. Cline and Rev. Fay Walker officiated at the rites. Mr. Mathis was a retired farmer, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. WIU MathU. Surviving are his wife, Mr*. Morle Hamrick Mathis; three sons, Odus Mathis of Ellenboro, Charles Mathis of Shelby and Horace Mathis of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Mrs. Grady WUUs of Kings Mountain and Mrs. BlUy Wyatt of WaynesvUla; one brother, Roy Mathis of Shelby; one sister, Mrs. Vastus Me- Swain of Bolling Springs; 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
