During the period from Jan. 19 through noon Jan. at the squad covered two accidents, answered 10 house calls, made five transports and one blood run. At 6:40 p. m. squad noembers responded to a call on Waco Rd. where Bob Carper was Involved In a one-car accident. Chrper's vehicle fl4>ped over on the road and he was transported to Qeveland Memorial where he was treated for a back InJtjry. At 1:23 p. m. Sun., Ian. 21, four persons were In jured In a two car ac cidents at the Intersection at Csuisler and Walker Sts. Rescuers transported Deanna, Robin suid Janice Vamado and Clara Bivens to Kings Mountain Hospital where they were treated from bruises and cuts. Rescuers transported five persons to the Kings Mountain Convalescent Center, KM Hospital, Cleveland Memorial, Gaston Memorial and Charlotte Memorial hospitals. The squad conducted one blood run from Charlotte to Kings Mountain Hospital. Numbered sunong ths^ transports Involved In the 10 house csdls were three heart attack victims, a back Injury, a drug reaction and one DOA. The Kings Mountain Rescue Squad newly elected board at directors will meet for the first time this year tonight at 7 o'clock at Squad headquarters on E. Psu-ker St. New directors Include Earl Holllfleld and Raymond Galloway from the squad and laymen. Dr. Sam Robinson, Bennett Masters, Otis Falls, Scott Clonlnger and Tom McIntyre. Johnny Hutchins Is captain of the squad for 1979. The third meeting of the "Great Decisions Program" Is scheduled Mon., Jan. 29, and the subject will be NATO and the Russians: Will The East-West Balance Hold? This meeting will be conducted by Roosevelt Plummer of Garlock Industries, Gastonia. The fourth meeting, on Feb. 6, will be Dealing With China: What’s at Stake — In Asia and the World? This study will be conducted by John Brenner of Gaston College. Brenner has spent the last two summers In India and Africa and will give Im portant first hand Infomatlon. The Great Decisions Program la being held nationwide and la being sponsored In Kings Mountain by Mauney Memorial Library and Gaston College.
