Joseph Marshall Bel], who were wed Saturday, are on a wedding trip to Las Vegas, Nevada and Honolulu, HawaU. Mias Phyllis Ann Stroup became Mr. Bell's bride in a aeven o’clock formal wedding In Gastonia’s Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. C. Peter Setter heard the exchange of vows In the double-ring candlelight ceremony. Mrs. Clyde A. Clonlnger was organist for the program of traditional music. The altar of the church was banked with palms and set with two brass candelabrum holding spiral tapers. White and pink flowers were used In two altar vases at either aide of the setting. Franklin Ambrose Stroup escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her In marriage. The bride’s wedding gown was a full-length formal design, an Original by Priscilla of Boston, of silk chiffon over crepe. The bodice of Alencon lace and English net featured a scoop neckline and cap sleeves of lace auid net. The full A- Une sMrt of chiffon fell from an empire waistline and was bordered by scalloped lace. The skirt was sprinkled with ap pliques of Alencon lace In back and flowed Into a Clutpel-length train. Her long veil of pure silk Illusion, also a Priscilla design, was bordered with Alencon lace and sprinkled with appliques of lace and caught to a cap of mat ching lace. She carried a bridal bouquet of stephanotls and roses centered with an orchid and showered with streamers of satin ribbon. Miss Susan Rebecca Stroup attended her sister as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Qary Awkerman of Mt. Pleasant, S. C., Miss Karen Barbie Smith, Miss Jane Lloyd Lachlcotte, both of Columbia, S. C., and Miss Margaret Ellen Hill of Claricston, Oa. All the attendants wore full-length formal gowns of Mrs. Flora Bell of Eatonton, Oa., grand mother of the bridegroom chose a long blue formal and a wdUte orchid cor- sge. and Is now employed by Fulton county Cltlsens A Southern Bank In Sandy Springs, Oa. Designed with full blouson sleeveless bodices, the slim skirts were attached to fitted waistline enhanced by slim self- covered cord belts. They carried bouquets of silk flowers In shades of pink and rose with baby’s breath and ferns and tied with streamers of rose ribbons. Robert Anthony Bell of Morrow, Oa. was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Karl Franklin Stroup of Rich mond, Va., brother of the bride; Dr. William Warren of Vldalla, Oa., brother-in- law of the bridegroom; and Jeffrey Wayne King of DoravlUe, Oa. The bride’s mother was gowned In a long formal of pale peach chiffon over taffeta featuring a blouson bodice with boat neckline and long, full sleeves. The skirt was enhanced by tiny ideats. She wore a corsage of green orchids at her shoulder. The bridegroom’s sister, Mrs. William Warren of Vldalla, Oa., chose a lavender chiffon formal and a white crchld at her dioulder. The bride’s narents entertained after the ceremony at a beautifully • ^pointed reception In the church fellowship hall where the bridal colors of pink and rose were fea tured In decorative details. Overlaid with white linen enhanced by pink ribbon, the bride’s tables were two round tables decorated with candelabrum and pink flowers. A tiered wedding csd(e wsm topped with pink and white sweetheart roses and was cut and served with pink punch and party refresh ments. Hurricane lamps were used with greenery In the windows of the reception hall and greenery, fern, hanging baskets and pink flowers and candles were used throughout the hall. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Richardson, Jr. greeted guests and Ms. Vickie Cbleman of Atlanta, Oa. kept the register. Mrs. Dewey Warren of Gastonia cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. Robert Stroup and Mrs. Gkirdon Harris, both of Gastonia, aunts of the bride, served punch. Goodbyes were said to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oault of Gastonia, aunt and uncle of the bride. For a wreddlng trip, the new Mrs. Bell chose a three-piece ensemble of winter white and lifted the corsage from her bridal bouquet. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Joseph M.
