by 443 people. Because of a grant from
the .\.C. .Arts Council, KMLT charged no
admission to the four performances and
gave all donations to the Ministerial
.Association’s year-round charity
program.
Mrs. Virginia Butler of
Route 2, Lawndale, has
finished the Adult High
School program held at
Casar School. She is
scheduled to receive her
adult high school diploma
from Burns High School at
Oeveland Tech’s spring
graduation.
When asked why she
decided to return to school
Mrs. Butler said, “I
wanted to obtain my high
school diploma for per
sonal satisfaction. I also
wanted to become a
teacher’s aide and being a
high school graduate is a
major requirement.”
“It is my desire to
someday work with the
smaller children in the
dementary school. I feel I
can help the kindergarten
through the third grade

Talent Show Tonight

The finance committee will have a
table manned in the Barnes
Auditorium lobby to receive public
donations prior to each talent show.

Funeral services for
Walter Jackson Bolin, 74,
of Rt. 4, were conducted
Wednesday at 3 p.m. from
Kings Mountain Church of
God by his pastor, Rev.
Jerry Smith, interment
following in Mountain Rest
Cemetery.
Mr. Bolin, Dixon com
munity farmer and retired
textile employe, died
suddenly Monday morning
at his home of an apparent
heart attack.
He was son of the late
William Robert and Mary
Jane Bolin of Kings
Mountain and a member of
Kings Mountain Church of
God.
Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Thelma Oveda
Caveny Bolin; one son,
Gary Bolin of Kings
Mountain; four daughters,
Mrs. Summie Norman,
Mrs. Marie Page, Mrs.
Maybelle Strange, all of
Kings Mountain, and Mrs.
Nancy Holmes of South
Gate, Michigan; one
brother, Robert Bolin of
Gastonia; six grand
children; and one great
grandchild.

time in the adult high
school classes at Casar
were worthwhile.but it was
difficult working full time
at Hickory Springs
Manufacturing, attending
classes, and meeting the
needs of her family.
“The adult high school
program is most wor
thwhile and it gave me the
opportunity to prove
myself,” concluded Mrs.
Butler.
Cleveland Tech
sponsors the adult high
school program at seven
locations across the
county. For those adults
who need the adult basic
education, school work
through the ei^t grade
level, ten class locations
are available in the couny.
Persons interested in
either the adult basic
education or the adult high
school program are
requested to contact Mrs.
Louise Martin, 482-8351.
Registration is open for
these programs through
the week of Monday •
Ihursday, April 16 -19 for
adult high school students
and the adult basic
education program
operates with an open
registration at all times. A
registration fee of $5.00 is
charged to both adult basic
education and adult high
school programs.
