KINGS MT..N.C. PH. 739-3501 The following is a question asked by a person at tending a recent Tuesday night Bible study session at our learning center on Cleveland Ave. I wish to answer that question publicly. "1 have heard you say at Positive People Worldwide that the fourOoapels; Matthews, Mark, Luke and John, are considered by you as the Old Testament scriptures. Would you please explain why?” Yes, I have said that and maintain that Jesus, the God of Israel, The Messiah, lived under the letter of the Law and those books reveal His life as He walked the earth under the Law, to fulfill the Law. I would like to say In explanation that for a full 160 years after Jesus the Christ, the Four Gospels were not considered Holy Scripture. Justin Martyr called them "Memoirs." Only the Jewish sacred writings enjoyed that stature In the early church along with two books the Gentiles still do not use In understanding the true Word of God: The Book of Enoch, and The Book of Jasher. We do carry these two books for those who wish to know the deeper things of God. They are sacred Jewish Scripture and scrolls that are mentioned In the Holy Bible; Second Samuel 1:18 - Jude 6:14 - Hebrews 11:6 and Joshua 10:18. Many of the things we publish In The Mirror-Herald may not be seen by other believers, but we stand on the rock (Jesus). We are grounded In the basic truths of salvation (Jeshua). We at the ministry of Positive People Worldwide wish not to debate, nor to destroy any orthodox Bible truth. But we as a body promote and teach greater truth not yet known to believers. GOFORTH PLUMBING 108 YORK ROAD - f*... 0m. 75 years men k poNided their ei^gies to jiist cme thing in the Piedmont I^ foture. Then came electricity. At the turn of the century, William States Lee had already gained practical experience in electric power plant design and constniction. Dr. W. Gill Wylie, a prominent New York suiigeon who hailed from Chester, S.C.. hired Lee to complete construction of a hydroelectric plant on the Catawba River near Rock Hill. On March 30, 1904. electricity from the plant flowed through copper wire to a nearby cotton mill. Lee, a brilliant engineer ^ from South Carolina, dreamed of the day that dams and power plants would convert the Catawba River into useful energy for all the people of the Piedmont Caailinas. Dr. Wylie conveyed Lee's dream to James Buchanan Duke, a wealthy businessman who was Wylie's patient. The three men pooled their eneipes and talents—and formed the Southern Power Company, later to become Duke Power. With the completion in l%3 of Cowans Ford Dam, which forms Lake Norman, the last free-flowing waters of the Catawba were harnessed. And Lee's dream came true. Today, hydro plants and huge, modem steam-electric plants—fueled by coal or uranium—continue to provide energy fo** Piedmont people and industries. What's next? Only the future can tell. But you can be ^ gypg Qf Qpg thing— electricity will be a o part of it. th Anniversary '“oiver Electricity came to the Piedmont Carolinas in 1904. The rest is history. DUKE POWER
