Elizabeth McOlll, daughter of Dr. said Mrs. John CSiarles McOlll, 708 Hillside Drive, Kings Mountain, will receive a Synod Scholarship, one of the highest scholarships available to members of the Associate Reformed Presbyteiisoi Church. She is a member of the class r? 1970 at Kings Mountain High School. Dora Padgett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Padgett, Rt. 8, Kings Mountain, has earned an Elvle Weeks Donald Scholso^p, given from the estate of the late Mrs. ESvle Weeks Donald of Pilot Point, Texas. Miss Padgett Is a member of the class of 1879 at Shelby High School. Miss McGill, who plans to prepare for a professional career in either medicine or law, has received numerous citizenship and academic awards and served as EUZABEIH MeOnX president of the junior class and vice president of the student body at Kings Mountain High School. Miss Padgett, who plans to be a pre-medical major, has been active In athletics and In religious, music, academic, and Unguage organisations at Shelby High School. She was secretary of the Student Council there. Ersklne, South Carolina’s first four-year denominational college, was founded In 1889 by the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. It Is a coeducational college of 700 students. Lineberger Adds CFG Scholarship Barry Lineberger, a senior at Kings Mountain Senior High School, has received $3,800 In scholarships from four different foundations. The son of Mr. said Mrs. Harold Lineberger, Rt. 1, Hord Rd., has received a $600 scholarship as Elk’s Club Most Valuable Student; $800 from the Dover Foundation, $300, Good Earth Gcurden Qub, and $1,000 from Carolina Freight Carriers. In senior high, Barry was president of the FFA and science club, member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club anilKey Qub, a school bus driver, senior cUiss representative and Interclub Council. He Is a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, church league volleyball and basketball clubs, Roy’s Boys Softball Team. Barry was the American Legion Boy’s State representative, delegate to BARRY LINEBEROER a PresldentUl Classroom for Young Americans, National Merit seml- flnallst. Who’s Who Among American High School Students, Outstanding Names and Faces award, Outstanding Young Americans award said a PPG scholarship finalist. KMers Earn Gaston Academic Honors A number of Kings Mountain students have earned academic honors at Gaston College for the spring quarter.
