American Legion Auxiliary, and Post 155 Commander Skeet Morrow cut a blue and gold birthday cake at the annual Legion Birthday Party Tuesday night hosted by the Auxiliary. A ‘covered dish supper was served. Images Booked At Legion The new “Images” will play Saturday night, March 13th, for an American Legion Auxiliary Benefit Dance at Kings Moun- tain Post 155. Dancing will be from 9 p.m. to midnight and tickets are $10 per couple at the door. “The Images”, a five piece combo, plays popular music as well as Beach, Disco, Top 40, and Country Western plus good He —— PHOTOGRAPHY music for listening’ and dancing. Shuford, Recording Secretary; Mrs. Minnick To Speak At Christian Women’s Club Mrs. Maie Minnick of Black Mountain, N.C., will be the guest speaker at the Shelby Christian Women’s Club lun- cheon at the Elk’s Club in Shelby on Thurs., Mar. 18. Mrs. Minnick is a native of Korea and lived there until she was 16 years old. She says she was born in “the Land of the Morning Calm” and now lives in the “Land in the Sky.” She and her husband, retired Lt. Col. Harold E. Minnick, have lived in many areas of the United States and Europe. She was selected 1970 Wife of the Year for the Military Aircraft Command. She has been an ac- tive volunteer in military and civilian life. This is her second ‘Mrs. Jan Curtis Elected President of KMCC Association Jan (Mrs. Alan) Curtis has been elected president of the Women’s Golf, Bridge and Ten- nis Association at Kings Moun- tain Country Club. ! Mrs. Curtis suceeds Lib (Mrs. Carl) Mayes. She and her hus- band recently moved to Kings Mountain from Houston, Tex., and are associated with Com- mercial Shearing. Mrs. Curtis, an Illinois native, formerly held the office of presi- dent of the Women’s Auxiliary at Trenton Church in Wheaton, IIL. New officers were installed recently at a spring luncheon meeting.
