Erskine Choraleers Open Spring Tour Here Sunday DUE WEST, S.C.—The Er- skine College Choraleers, tour- ing mixed chorus of Erskine Col- lege, will hold their 30th annual spring tour Sunday, March 14, with an 11 a.m. performance during services at Boyce Memorial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Kings Mountain. Norman (Trip) McGill, son of Mr. and Mrs. N.F. McGill, Jr., 606 W. Mountain St., Kings Mountain, is accompanist for the 28-member chorus directed by Erskine Music Instructor Tony Dunlap. McGill is a senior music education major, presi- dent of the senior class, and a member of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Univer- sities and Colleges.” The Choraleers will perform sacred works by de Victoria; Handel, Mozart, Peeters, Pinkham, Vaughan Williams, Rorem, Berger, and Pote, a set of songs by Brahms, ‘and other popular works. The Erskine choral group will be touring ‘churches of Ten: nessee and Mississippi March 17-24, after another perfor- ,mance March 14 at the Rock Hill A.R. Presbyterian Church. During the 30 years the group has existed, it has sung in vitual- ly every eastern and southeastern state. The Choraleers have sung at a U.S. Senate Reception in Washington, at the New York World’s Fair, «at - the Southeastern Choral Conductors Convention in Baton Rouge, La., and twice at Disney World. Erskine, founded in 1839 by the Associate Presbyterian Church, was South Carolina’s earliest four-year denominational college. Reformed PINTO BEANS There will be a pinto bean sup- per Sat., Mar. 13 at 6 p.m. at . Dixon Presbyterian Church. Pinto beans, cornbread, slaw, ham and tea will be served.
