Lunch Week Kings Mountain District Schools joined with schools across the nation in the celebra- tion on National School Lunch Week October 10-16. “School Lunch: America’s No. 1 Energy Source” was the celebration theme. Special emphasis for National School Lunch Week included the universal menu served in the Kings Mountain School on Wednesday. This menu included colorful and tasty Chinese delight: Teriyake Chicken, Fried Rice, Fantasy Fruit, Stir Fried Vetgetables and Almond Cookie. ; A number of teachers in the Kings Mountain Schools used the oriental menu as part of the classroom activities in the study of China and how the Chinese people live and work. The cafeterial employees join- ed in the fun by decorating the cafeterias with a touch of China. Some of the employees dressed as Chinese women and served lunch to the students. Several hundred parents par- ticipated in the activities as they visited the schools and ate lunch with the students.
