Exchange Vows Saturday
Lisa Gail Hayes of Kings
Mountain and Timothy Dwayne
Bridges of Bessemer City pledged
their wedding vows Saturday at
2 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church
in Kings Mountain.
Rev. Dwight H. Edwards Jr.,
pastor, officiated. Mrs. Macie
Jenkins, organist, and Michael
Chambers, vocal soloist,
presented a program of wedding
music.
The bride is the daughter of
Betty and H.P. Hayes of 915
Henry Street. She is a 1980
graduate of Kings Mountain
High School and is employed at
Key Warehouse Foods as
general merchandise manager.
She is the granddaughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Guss Bennett.
The groom is the son of Mrs.
Mary Lou Bridges of Bessemer
City and the late Roy Howard
Bridges. He is a 1979 graduate of
Bessemer City High School and
is self-employed as a brick
mason. He is the grandson of
Mr. and Mrs. Coy Mauney and
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bridges.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her brother, Guss Ben-
nett Hayes. Miss Regina Diane
‘Bell served as maid of honor and
bridesmaids were Kellie Marie
Allman, Nancy Early Gault and
Susan Kimberly Bennett, all of
Kings Mountain. Summer Leigh
Crisp of Kings Mountain was
flowergirl and Tripp Gault of
Kings Mountain was ringbearer.
Andrew Dwight Bridges of
Bessemer City was best man.

when Miss Bettina Allen became
the bride of Thomas Franklin
Morgan, Jr. The Reverend Eric
M. Faust officiated in the double
ring rites.
The bride, formerly of Long
Island, New York is the
daughter of Mrs. George
William Allen Jr. of Kings
Mountain and the late Mr.
Allen. She is the granddaughter
of Mrs. Logan Perry Stowe of
Kings Mountain and the late
Mr. Stowe and George William
Allan of Palm Harbor, Florida
and the late Mrs. Allen. She att-
tended Kings Mountain Senior
High School and was an honor
graduate of Kings College in
Charlotte. She is Administrative
Assistant for Collier Cobb &
Associates, Inc. in Charlotte.
The groom is the son of Mrs.
Betty Biddy Morgan of Mt. Hol-
ign Thomas Frandlin Morgan
of (hastonia. He is the grandson
of Mr%,and Mrs. Cluade Biddy of
Ranlo “and Thomas Lindsay
Morgan ‘and the late Mrs.
Morgan of Gastonia. He attend-
ed North{ Gaston High School
and is employed by Tom Baker

The n@ptial music was
presente by Mrs. Shirley
of Charlotte, vocalist,
who atcompanied himself on
guitar./His solo numbers includ-
ed “Only You”, “You Send Me”,
and “All the Time”. The tradi-
tiofial wedding marches were us-
ed.
Candelabras holding lighted
* white cathedral tapers were
places on either side of the alter
and served as a background for
floor baskets filled with fan-
shaped arrangements of white
snapdragons and chrysan-
themums. Lighted candles sur-
rounded by greenery were plac-
ed at each window.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her brother, Steven Ed-
ward Allen of Chicago, Illinois.
She chose a long white gown of
peau-de-ange and imported schif-
fli lace featuring a decollete
neckline. The double puffed
sleeves tapered to lace calla
points over the hands. The
bodice of the empire gown was
intricately patterned with the
schiffli lace and the skirt was
edged with scalloped lace.

guest register and Bobby Glenn
Fuller: of Bessemer City
distributed programs.
The couple cut their wedding
cake following the wedding
rehearsal Friday night. Follow-
ing a wedding trip to Gatlinburg,
Tenn., and to the World’s Fair in
Knoxville, Tenn., the couple will
reside at Route 3, Kings Moun-
tain.

Cascading chantilly lace was
featured on the attached chapel
length train. Her opened-
crowned hat was adorned with
schiffli lace with matching bow.
Her strand of cultured pearls
were given to her as a child to be
worn on her wedding day by her
honorary godmother, Mrs.
Walter A. Stockman of Finland.
The bride carried a cascade of
white orchids and stephanotis.
Mrs. Jeff Beebe of Charlotte
served as Matron of Honor and
Bridesmaids were. Mrs. Mark
Falkenborg and Ms. Lynn Sex-
ton, both of Kings Mountain.
The groom chose Joe Heart of
Charlotte as his best man. Serv-
ing as ushers were Mike Long
and Eddie Baker, both of
Charlotte.
The bride’s mother hosted an
after-rehearsal dinner Friday
night at the Holiday Inn Kings
Mountain. Following the
ceremony, the bride and groom
were driven by limousine to a
champagne reception at the
Holiday Inn Kings Mountain
which was given by the bride’s
mother. Frank and Tina cut
their® all white wedding cake
which consisted of four tiers on a
base of six individual heart-
shaped cakes. The guests were
served champagne, punch, and a
varitey of sandwiches, hor
d‘oeuvres, seafood canipes and
confections. Arrrangements of
white and pink flowers were us-
ed throughout the reception
area.
Following a honeymoon trip
to Jekyll Island and a tour of
Florida, the newlyweds will
reside in Charlotte.

Is Honored
Miss Lisa Hayes, bride-elect of
Timmy Bridges, was honored
Friday by Mrs. Kenneth Davis
at a bridesmaids luncheon at her
home on Woodside Drive.
Tables were overlaid with
white linen and centered with ar-
rangements of fruit. The bride-
elect’s place was marked with a
corsage of white daisies.
After a four course meal was
served, the hostess remember
Miss Hayes with a casserole set.
The attendants were presented
baskettes of silk flowers by Miss
Hayes.
The guest list included the
honoree, Mrs. H.P. Hayes, Gina
Bell, Kellie Allman, Nancy
Gault and Susan Bennett of
Kings Mountain, Mary Lous
Brides and Alice Mauney of
Bessemer City and Anne Hayes
of New York City.
