OBITUNRIES DOVIE GAULT Dovie Buff Gault, 94, of Kings Mountain, died Tuesday at Kings Mountain Convales- cent Center. : A native of Burke County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaih Buff and the wife of the late Conway Jackson Gault. She is survived by four sons, Boyce Gault, Bill Gault and C.J. Gault Jr., all of Kings Mountain, and Robert Gault of Gastonia; three daughters, Mrs. C.W. Blankenship of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mrs. Forrest Warlick of Shelby and Mrs. Frank Stroupe of Gastonia; 23 grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Bap- tist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Ernest Ar- nold and the Rev. Ivan Stephens. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery. GRADY CASH GROVER - Grady Cash, 77, of Route 1, died Tues., Oct. 19, at Kings Mountain Hospital. A Cleveland County native, he was the son of the late Richard and Mary Cobb Cash. His wife was the late Eunice Jones Cash. He is survived by four sons, Theodore Pete” Cash of Grover, Ray Cash of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Gene Cash and Carl Cash, both of Kings Moun- tain; and two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Marie) Wray and Mrs. Ed- ward (Shirley) Philbeck, both of Grover; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Morris Hampton and the Rev. George Leigh. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. MRS. NABORS GAFFNEY - Thelma Cleo Jackson Nabors, 68, died Oc- tober 23 following a lengthy il- Iness. She was the daughter of An- drew Jackson of Gaffney and Susie Jones Jackson Welker of York, and the wife of the late John Franklin Nabors. Also surviving ae one son, Fred P. Gossett of Lutz, Fla.; one daughter, Edith Lee Eaker Burns of Greensboro; four grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Lee Andrew Jackson of York and L.D. Rudolph of Gaff- ney; two sisters, Edythe L. Jackson Self of Kings Mountain and Susie A. Jackson Kincses of West Alexandria, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews. Private services were held for family members. EMERY MURRAY ‘Emery E. Murray, 59, of Route 3, Kings Mountain, died Friday at Charlotte Memorial Hospital. A Rutherford County native, he was the son of the late Harlin and Bea Jones Murray and was an employee of Impact Plastic Company in Gastonia. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Putnam Murray; two brothers, Dewey Murray and Avery Murray of Kings Moun- tain; and a sister, Mrs. Leona Fite of Kings Mountain. Services were conducted Sun- day at 3 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church by the Rev. Gerry Davis and the Rev. Clarence McMahan. Burial was in Moun- tain Rest Cemetery. ARTHUR THOMPSON Arthur E. Thompson, 73, of 806 Princeton Drive, died Fri- day at Oteen Hospital. He was a retired chief in the U.S. Navy and worked for 17 years in civil service. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge 272 in Trupe, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Ed- na Absher Thompson; three stepsons, Wade L. Hartsell of Midland, Lester J. Woody of Richmond, Va., and William F. Woody of Merengo, Indiana; a half-brother, Berlin Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas, and a half-sister, Nancy Keller of Houston, Texas. Services were conducted Mon- day at 2 p.m. at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home in Bessemer City. Burial, with full Masonic rites, was in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery. ANDERSON MINTZ YORK, S.C. - Anderson Mintz, 62, of Route 4, died Thursday in York General Hospital in Rock Hill. A Cleveland County, N.C., native, he was a retired self- . employed contractor and farmer. He was the son of the late An- thony and Lela Surratt Mintz and his wife was the late Carrie Adams Mintz. He was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church, served on the board of directors of York Electric Cooperative and was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. He is survived by four sons, Willie Anderson Mintz, Roy Jay Mintz, Vince Lee Mintz and Tony Darnell Mintz, all of Rock Hill; three daughters, Geneva Mintz of the home; Janie Dixon of Rock Hill and Mrs. Pearlie (Annie) Burris of York; two brothers, Felix Mintz of Shelby and James Mintz of Kings Mountain; four sisters, Lorrine /‘ AT FIRST WESLEYAN - Salty The Singing Songbook and his friends will be presented by the Junior Choir of First Wesleyan Church Sunday. Guests included his grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Phillips and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Martin; his uncle and aunt, Steve and Patricia Phillips; his cousin, Stephanie Phillips; and his great-grandmother, Mrs. Alma Martin of Greenville, S.C. He was the son of the late Maggie Fulton Jefferies and was a veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Fulton; three step- sisters, the Rev. Orvelee Abraham and Mrs. Alma Pratt of Gastonia, and Mrs. Lucille Harris of Shelby; and two step- brothers, Willie Ray Jefferies of Gastonia and Robert Jefferies of Grover.
