The banquet will honor all members of the KMHS football team and cheerleaders. While at KMHS, he coached the Mountaineers to Southwestern 3-A Conference titles in 1955 and 1956 and coached in a number of all-star games, including the Shrine Bowl. He later coached at Ashley and Ashbrook High in Gastonia, leading the Green Wave to a number of Southwestern 4-A Conference championships.
