the wedding of Mary Ann White
of Kings Mountain and Charles
Christopher Barrett of Bessemer
City.
The Rev. Robert L. Hicklin
officiated’ ‘at the i 7 p.m.
candlelight ceremony. Mrs. Billie
Sue Hicklin, organist, and Mrs.
Diane Barrett, vocalist,
presented a program of wedding
music. Mrs. Barrett sang “You
Light Up My Life” and “Take
My Hand”, a song written
especially for the bride and
groom.
The bride is the daughter of
Frankie and Jimmy White of
304 Silver Street, Kings Moun-
tain. She is a 1981 graduate of
Kings Mountain Senior High
School and attended Cleveland
Tech. She is employed by Cleve-
mont Mills.
The groom is the son of
Carolyn and Ken Barrett of
1001 South Eleventh Street,
Bessemer City. He is a 1979
graduate of Bessemer City High
School and attended Gaston Col-
lege, where he studied electrical
installation. He is employed by
Wix Corporation of Gastonia.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. Tammy
Bolton of Kings Mountain was
maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
the bridegroom’s sisters, Mrs.
Kim Walker and Karen Barrett,
both of Bessemer City, and
Trudy Proctor, Ginger Martin
and Karen Dixon, all of Kings
Mountain.
Jenifer Blanton of Bristol, Va.,
was flower girl. The
bridegroom’s sister, Crystal Bar-
rett of Bessemer City, presided at
the register and handed out
bulletins and rice bags.
The bridegroom chose his
father as best man. Ushers were
the bride’s brother, Bryon White
of Kings Mountain, and Billy
Robinson, Carl Falls, Patrick
Rhyne and Tim Harmon of
Bessemer City. The bride’s
brother, Brandon White of
Kings
bearer.
Linda Poole of Gastonia
directed the wedding.
Barretts Exchange Vows
MR. AND MRS. CHARLES BARRETT
The bride’s parents entertain-
ed at an after-rehearsal cake-
cutting Friday night at
Macedonia Baptist Church.
Attending were members of
the wedding party and guests.
The three-tier wedding cake was
iced in white and burgandy, the
colors of the wedding. The cake
was garnished with wedding
bells and on the top tier was a
brandy sniffer with the bride and
groom inside.
Cake was served by Mrs.
Susan Cook. Punch was served
by Mrs. Susan Blanton, Other
- party refreshments were served
by Mrs. Patti Barnette and Mrs,
Virginia Wilson. Seventy-five
guests attended. The cake was
made by Mrs. Mable Ross of
Kings Mountain.
The couple have returned
from their honeymoon in Boone
and Sugar Mountain and are
making their home in Kings
Mountain.
