A Kings Mountain native, he was the son of Margaret Moss Blanton Johnson of Kings Mountain and the late William H. Blanton. He was owner and operator of Biltmore Stove Company of Travelers Rest and was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Furman University, where he was a member of the TKE Fraternity. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Dixie Taylor Blanton of the home; two daughters, Robin Jeanine Blan- ton and Lisa Renee Blanton of the home; three brothers, Mack Blanton of Gaffney, Joe Johnson of Morganton and Timothy Johnson of Kings Mountain; and four sisters, Mrs. Neville Cribb of Hemmingway, S.C., Mrs. Robert W. Potter of Piedmont, S.C., Mrs. Richard Cochran of High Point and Miss Amanda Johnson of Kings Mountain. Graveside services were con- ducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Dr. Robert Taylor, the Rev. Paul Petty and the Rev. Bobby Arrowood. HAZEL GIBBONS Hazel Oates Gibbons, 68, of Route 3, Kings Mountain, died Monday at her home. A Cleveland County native, she was the daughter of the late John Milton and Fallie Weir Oates. She was a member of ° Resurrection Lutheran Church and was employed as a secretary with Plonk Oil Company. She is survived by her hus- band, W.P. Gibbons Jr. of the home; one son, W.P. Gibbons III of Gastonia; two daughters, Mrs. Dottie Duckett of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Billie Thames of Akron, Ohio; one brother, John Oates of Kings Mountain; and four grandchildren. Graveside services were con- ducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery by the Rev. Gerald Weeks. Memorials may be made to the Gaston County Cancer Fund. BLANCHE BELL Mrs. Blanche H. Bell, 60, of Route 1, Grover, died Friday at Kings Mountain Hospital. A Dale County, Ala., native, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Maggie Horn. She is survived by her hus- band, Willie Bell of the home; three sons, Keith Bell, Steven Bell and Todd Bell of the home; two brothers, Fred Horn and Jerry Horn of Trenton, N.J; four sisters, Mrs. Merle Thomas of Grover, Mrs. Jewel Thomas of Alabama and Mrs. Florence Warner and Mrs. Luvenia Glover of Trenton, N.J.; and two grandchildren. Services were conducted Mon- day at 2 p.m. at Long Branch Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. R.D. Ab- bott. Burial was in the church cemetery. JAMES LEE SULLENS ]R. James Sullens Two Years Old James Lee Sullens Jr., son of Patricia Sue and James Lee Sullens Sr., celebrated his second birthday with a party Tuesday at his home on 1009 North Pied- mont Avenue. James is the grandson of Ora Lee Parham and Sarah and Thomas Runyans, all of Kings Mountain. Great-grandparents are Eva May Lovelace and Mag- gie Runyans, both of Kings Mountain. A native of Kings Mountain, he was the son of the late John and Edna Davis Cashon. BRANCH MOORESVILLE - George Franklin Branch, 88, of Route 8, Mooresville, died Thursday at Lowrance Hospital following a lengthy illness. A native of Lincoln County, he was a retired merchant. He is survived by two sons, Robert O.
