Charles Mashburn of 921 Church Street reported the theft of a lawn mower, valued at $1,200. Wilmoth Duke Kerns Jr. of 1215 Jackson Road reported vandalism to his car while it was parked at First Union National Bank. Someone reportedly took a knife and ran it down the right side of the vehicle. Damage was $250. The Winn Dixie in the Kings Mountain Plaza reported the theft of seven cartons of cigaret- tes. Charged with larceny was Robert Ramsey, 52, of 10 Pine Manor Apartments. Elton Stewart of 7185 Meadowbrook Road reported that someone cut the tires on his car. Damage was $200. Mary Riley of Route 4, Kings of a purse and $18 while she was at Harris Teeter. J.D. Bridges of 1012 Linwood ROad reported the theft of hub- caps, valued at $350. The Pantry on King Street reported the theft of a country ham, valued at $13. Police ar- rested Michael Brown, 25, of 3 Carpenter Street and charged him with larceny. Clinton Walker of Route 4 reported that windows were broken out of his car while it was parked at Kings Mountain High School. Damage was $75. Larry Melton of 1814 Alpine Drive reported a breaking and entering and larceny of a kitchen stove, valued at $400, and a carpet, valued at $400. Susan Tesseneer of 106 Plan- tation DRive reported that her tires were cut, a windshield was damage and her purse was stolen while her car was parked at McDonald’s. Dr. E.B. Thombs of 103 King Street reported a breaking and entering and the larceny of $38 in change and sample drugs. Donald Curry of 1910 Alpine Street reported a breaking and entering and the larceny of a ri- fle, tools and tool box. Total value was $275. By RICK McDANIEL Monday night, members of the Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department were busy at Paul Hord’s Fish Camp- not fighting a fire, but enjoying a dinner in their honor. The store opened recently in the building formerly occupied by Key Warehouse Foods. Food Lion operates stores in the two Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia.
