RATTERREE Bright Dixon Ratterree, 91, of : 411 West Mountain Street, died - May 3 at 11:30 p.m. at Kings : Mountain Hospital. A Cleveland County native, - he was the son of the late Sumter : Columbus and Caroline Aman- i da Herndon Ratterree. He was a i retired real estate dealer and ~ retired vice-president of Home . Federal Savings and Loan of » Kings Mountain. He was an elder and trustee at : Boyce Memorial A.R.P. Church, . a World War I veteran, and a member and past commander of i American Legion Post 155. He is survived by his wife, { Mary Gamble Ratterree; one : daughter, Dr. Margaret E. Rat- terree of Kings Mountain; one foster daughter, Mrs. Jean Diaz of New Market, Va.; four grand- children; and one great- ‘grandchild. Church building fund. EMMA WELCH Emma Fortenberry Welch, 61, of Route 4, Kings Mountain, died Tuesday at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. A Rutherford County native, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah Crowder Fortenberry and the widow of the late Ralph Wilson Welch. She was a retired textile employee and a charter member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Charles Welch of Kings Mou- i nain and Tommy Dover of i Leland; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Brenda) Lowrance of Grover; a brother, Forest Fortenberry of : . Grover; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys . i ‘Harris Funeral Home. Borders of Shelby and Mrs. Ger- trude Williams of Lattimore; and six grandchildren. Srvices will be conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. at Allen Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Dean Proctor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 79 p.m. Wednesday at BESSIE COBB, Route 2, Kings Mountain, died Sunday at Kings Mountain Hospital. A Gaston County native, she was the daughter of the late Van and Susanna Wright Grigg and the widow of the late Daniel J. Cobb. She was a member of Midview Baptist Church. Survivors’ include four sons, Dewey Cobb of Vero Beach, Fla., Jack Cobb of Lake Worth, Fla., and Floyd Cobb and Her- man Cobb, both of Kings Moun- tain; a daughter, Mrs. Eula Mae Wiggins of Kings Mountain; a stepson, Russell Cobb of Hayesville; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Gladys Thrift of Rock Hill, S.C., and Mrs. Eva Hannah and Mrs. Viola Stroup, both of Kings Mountain; ‘a sister, Lizzie Hullender of Kings Mountain; 27 grandchildren; 41 great- grandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Midview Baptist Church by the Rev. Fred Wells and the Rev. John Frazier. Burial was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. MARY HUFFSTICKLER Mary Grace Huffstickler, 64, of Flint, Michigan, formerly of Kings Mountain, died Saturday in Corunna, Mich. A Union County, S.C., native, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William P. McAbee. She is survived by a son, Michael Huffstickler of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Rita Bon- nefil of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Sam McAbee of Flint, Mich., and Brooks McAbee of Gastonia; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
