Thursday, June 2, 1983 MRS. HENRY ALFRED BADGETTT III (Denise Hord Collins) Badgetts Exchange Vows Sunday At First Baptist First Baptist Church provided the setting Sunday afternoon for a 3 o’clock wedding uniting Miss Denise Hord Collins and Henry Alfred Badgett, III. The Reverend Christopher Ayers of Chapel Hill heard the exchang- ing of vows in a double ring ceremony. A program of wedding music was provided ‘by Mrs. Broadus Elam, orgainist, and Mrs. John Pettus, pianist. | Samuel David Collins, Jr. escorted his sister to the altar. The bride’s dress was a Jann white: imported “Swiss = Batiste in white across the front and back of the bodice as well as the stand up collar and full elbow ‘length sleeves. The gown was edged at the neck, sleeves and train with imported French en- tirdeux and lace. The waist of the dress was accented with a soft lined crushed cummerbund. The full gathered skirt fell into a chapel length train. Her. veil of white silk illusion was attached to a wreath of small imported Johnson Original design made of S over silk taffeta. The gown was. hand smocked and embroidered rosebuds which cascaded into a chapel length veil with a wide border of silk sceffli lace, a Priscilla of Boston design. She carried a white family Bible covered with pink sweetheart ‘roses, stephanotis, baby’s breath and showered with ribbon streamers. Mrs. Samuel David Collins, Jr. of Gastonia was her sisterindaw’s matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. David W. Hinshaw of Winston- Salem, Ms. Debra Kay Hunt of Chapel Hill, and Ms. Joni D. Smith of Greensboro. “ou. All of the attendants wore two. piece gowns in rosette chiffon designed with high neck and puf- fed tucked sleeves. The gowns were enhanced with tucks at the hemline. They carried nosegays of pink sweetheart roses, daisies, stephanotis and baby’s breath. Ms. Cynthia Williams, cousin of the bride, of Chapel Hill and Pocomoke City, Md., presided at the register. Henry Alfred Badgett of Asheville was his'son’s best man. Turn To Page 10-B MRS. MICHAEL REECE NORW OOD (Lisa Jeanine Ledford) Norwoods Wed May 28 In Gastonia Ceremony Lisa Jeanine Ledford and Michael Reece Norwood, both of Gastonia, exchanged their wedding vows May 28 at Har- mony Baptist Church in Gastonia. Rev. Bobby Meeks and Rev. Roy Clark officiated. Danny Wilson, pianist and soloist, and Betty Cash, soloist, presented a program of wedding music. The bride is the daughter of Charles and Janice Ledford of 2309 Sunset Avenue, Gastonia, and the granddaughter of Ruth Deal of Gastonia and Mattie Ledford of Kings Mountain. She is a graduate of Hunter Huss High. School and. attended " “Cleveland Technical = College. She is employed by Gaston ‘Memorial Hospital. The bridegroom is the son of Muriel Norwood of Bessemer Ci- ty and Everette Norwood of Dallas, and the grandson of Neva Phillips of Kings Moun- tain. He is a graduate of Bessemer City High School and ‘is employed by Electricon, Inc., of Kinston. The bride was given in mar- riage by her father. She chose Tammy Clark of Gastonia as her Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Peggy Ward of Gastonia and Joni Clark, Sharmie Wig- gins, Judy Norwood and Tammy Mitchem, all of Bessemer City. Child attendants were Nikki Deal of Gastonia and David Norwood of Bessemer City. Becky Clark and Deon Pearson directed the wedding. Jamie Stroupe attended the guest register and ‘Becky Pruitt distributed programs and rice bags. Acolytes were Mike Clary and Benji Seagle. Larry Norwood of Bessemer City was best man. Ushers were “Don. Clark, Scotty Norwood, Danny Mitchem, Patrick Rhyne and Jeff Shuford, all of Bessemer City, and Jack Ward of : Gastonia. The bride’s parents hosted a reception following the wedding . in the church fellowship hall.: The bridegroom’s mother hosted the after-rehearsal party. Following a trip to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, the newlyweds will reside on Route 1, Kings Mountain. The bride-to-be is a student at ' Kings Mountain High School. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Bridges of Kings Mountain. The prospective bridegroom is a 1983 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School. He is the grandson of Mrs. Otis Collins of Shelby. The wedding will be held July 2 at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist .
