August 25, 1983 Classes Planned At Tech The Continuing Education Department of Cleveland Technical College has scheduled the following courses: Stained glass begin: September 6, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Shelby Junior High. The Tony Ware Is Promoted CALHOUN, GA. Tony Ware has been promoted to na- tional sales manager for the Tower Carpets Division of Car- rigae Carpet Mills, Inc. The an- nouncement was made by Bill Colombo, vice president and general manager of Tower. Ware began his career in the carpet industry with Carriage Carpets in 1974 after teaching school for four years in Charlotte. Since April of 1979 he was Carriage’s sales represen- tative for the mid-Atlantic sales. For the last two years Ware has also been on the board of directors of North Carolina Manufacatured Housing In- stitute. Ware received his bachelor of science degree in industrial arts from Appalachian State College in 1969. Ware, his wife, Kathy, and their two sons, Scott, 12, and Tyler, 5, will make their home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He en- joys golfing and swimming dur- ing his leisure hours. Ware is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ware and Kathy is is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Ellison, all of Kings Mountain. I I RR a CR Se Thanks, Food Lion -TO the editor On Wednesday, August 17th, the Kings Mountain Senior Center participated in a summer commodity foods distribution program sponsored by the Cleveland County Social Ser- vices. 1,690 pounds of cheese was distributed, along with 705 pounds of flour, 416 pounds of dry milk, and 254 pounds of rice. A total of 192 households were served through the program. The Senior Center staff would like to express their sincere thanks to Food Lion in Kings Mountain for their donation of paper bags for this distribution. This kind gesture made the pro- gram run much more smoothly. SENIOR CENTER STAFF class will meet each Tuesday un- til October 18. The instructor will be Neal Scism. Total hours will be 20. Parker St., Kings Mountain, has been pro- moted in the U.S. Army to the rank of staff sergeant. Davis is a stock control specialist at Fort Campbell, Ky., with the 101st Airborne Divi- sion.
