McGinnis got loose for 15 in addition to a two-yard gain by Baity to put the ball on the Shelby 46. McGinnis got seven and Baity added 11 to carry to the Lion 28. There the defense held and Kings Mountain lost the ball on downs after two passes fell in- complete. Shelby could pick up only two yards and had to punt. Kings Mountain took over on the 49 and McGinnis immediately got 18 to put the ball on the 33 of Shelby. McCarter and Baity col- lected 14 on two plays to drive to the Shelby 19. McGinnis and McCarter pick- ed up five to the 14 and on the next play, McGinnis broke loose for a TD. The kick by Stewart was off and the score was 26-0. The third quarter ended following the kick-off and Shelby took over on their own 33. A Greene to Hewitt pass was good for 14 yards and a first and 10 on the Shelby 45.
