The fair has been in existance
for 36 years and features farm
and home exhibits, school crafts,
farm machinery, livestock, and
exhibits from local organiza-
tions.
Miss Sandi Watterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Watter-
son will reign as the Senior Miss Bethware Fair for the 1983 edi-
tion of the fair.
Currently, Miss Watterson is a Senior Class President at
Kings Mountain High School. She is also Beta Club Vice Presi-
dent and an active member in the National Honor Society.

Grove Baptist Church where she serves as pianist for the adult
assembly. ;
After high school, Sandi plans to attend college to study
medicine.
This is the second year that
the fair will run four days, and
there will be two days termed
family days. On Tuesday and
Thursday armbands may be pur-
chased that enable the wearer to
ride as many times as he or she
wishes for the one price of $5.00.

DeAnn Blanton Breaks
Swimming Record
DeAnn Blanton of Athens,
Ga., broke a state record which
had stood since 1975 in the
Southeastern United States Zone
Swimming Competition in
Winter Haven, Fla., last
weekend.
The 12-year-old daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Blanton
Jr., formerly of Kings Mountain,
won first place in the 100 meter
backstroke.
She recently set four records
in the City-County Swimming
Championships in Athens, winn-
ing the girls 50-free, 100-free,
50-back and 100-individual
medley.
DeAnn is the granddaughter
of Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Blanton
of Kings Mountain.

Roberts, a Gastonia attorney,
represents Gaston and Lincoln
counties in the 44th House
