Currently, Miss Watterson is a Senior Class President at Kings Mountain High School. She is also Beta Club Vice Presi- dent and an active member in the National Honor Society. She is also a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she serves as pianist for the adult assembly. ; After high school, Sandi plans to attend college to study medicine. This is the second year that the fair will run four days, and there will be two days termed family days. DeAnn Blanton Breaks Swimming Record DeAnn Blanton of Athens, Ga., broke a state record which had stood since 1975 in the Southeastern United States Zone Swimming Competition in Winter Haven, Fla., last weekend. The 12-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Blanton Jr., formerly of Kings Mountain, won first place in the 100 meter backstroke. She recently set four records in the City-County Swimming Championships in Athens, winn- ing the girls 50-free, 100-free, 50-back and 100-individual medley. DeAnn is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt Blanton of Kings Mountain. i DEANN BLANTON Roberts Appointed RALEIGHT—Represen- tative Joseph B. Roberts, III of Gaston County has been ap- pointed to the North Carolina Criminal Code Revision Study Committee by House Speaker Liston B. Ramsey.
