Finney-Tate Couple Exchange Marriage Vows Susan Tyler Finney of Burl- ington and Michael Andrew Tate of Cincinatti, Ohio, were married Sat., Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. at the Duke University Chapel in. Durham. The Rev. Russell Fitts officiated and music was by Monica Rossman, organist, and Doug Myers, trumpeter. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harding Mattera of Roanoke, Va., and the late Henry T. Finney Jr. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Tate of Kings Mountain. Given in marriage by her step- father, the bride wore a gown of white taffeta accented with lace and pearls. The bodice featured a dropped waist and the A-line skirt extended into a chapel train. Her chapeldength veil of il- lusion was attached to a Juliet cap highlighted with lace and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink and white roses, freesias, stephanotis, babies breath and orchids. Deborah Voss of Roanoke was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Robin King of Vienna, Va., Kathleen McGovern of Roanoke, Kathy Kavanaugh of Burlington, Gay Moore of Seat- tle, Wash., Robin Overton of Prospect Heights, Ill., Karyn Hicnke of Rockville, Md., and Bonnie Mattera of Roanoke, sister of the bride. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Taylor Shaw and guests were registered by Kim Tate. The bride’s parents hosted a buffet reception at the Holiday- Inn West in Durham following the ceremony.
