The Reverand Harwood T. Smith officiated at the ceremony. A string quartet provided music before the ceremony and a program of organ music was give by the organist Mrs. Lawrence Eugene Hinnant. Stephan An- drew Mauney was the crucifer. James Edward Herndon escorted his daughter to the altar. The bride’s dress was of silk taffeta in a period design with french pleats and silk bows on the bodice, the full skirt sash- ed with silk satin, extended into a cathedral length train. She wore an antique Brussels lace veil also cathedral length and carried a bouquet of lily-of-the- valley, stephanotis and white bridal roses with tendrils of southern smilax. Miss Elizabeth Scott Herndon and Miss Charlotte Kathryn Herndon, sister’s of the bride were her honor attendants.
