ENGAGED - Mr. and Mrs. Harold G. Biddy of Gastonia an-
nounce the engagement of their daughter, Donna June, to
Thomas Christopher Keeter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L.
Keeter of Grover. The bride-to-be attended North Gaston High
School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro
and graduated from Hairstyling Institute. She is employed by
Topper’s Hair Design and is a student at Belmont Abbey Col-
lege. Chris is a 1979 graduate of Kings Mountain High School
and will graduate from UNC-Charlotte in 1984. The wedding
will be held on December 3.

philanthropic organization
whose interests are directed to
education for women. Its inter-
national projects include the
P.E.O. Educations Fund, Cottey
Junior College for Women, In-
ternational Peace Scholarship
Fund, and the Program for Con-
tinuing Education.
The Educational Fund was
created to assist qualified women
in attaining educational goals.
Since its inception in 1907, an
aggregate in excess of
$8,000,000 has been used by
more that 22,500 students.
Cottey College, located in
Nevada, Missouri, is a liberal
arts junior college for women.
Founded in 1884, it has been
owned and supported by P.E.O.
since 1927. Cottey is fully ac-
credited and prepares its 350
students for secondary colleges.

ENGAGED - Mrs. Shirley Rucker announces the engagement
of her daughter, Cynthia Hayes Morrison, to Roger Dean
Eaker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Eaker of Route 6. Kings
Mountain. Cynthia is also the daughter of Voyd Hayes and the
stepdaughter of Tommy Rucker of Highway 216, Kings Moun-
tain. The wedding will be an event of February 12, 1984.

Coleman, 111 were entertained
by a wedding brunch at the
home of her parents on October
7.
Three host couples, Mr. and
Mrs. William Mauney Herndon,
Mr.and Mrs. Lawrence Eugene
Hinnant and Mr. and Mrs. John
Oates Plonk, entertained the
wedding couple and received
guest on the patio lawn of the
Herndon home. Attending were
members of the wedding party
and out of town guest.
The Herndon-Coleman wed-
ding took place October 8.
