Joins
Allstate
Gary E. Cooke has recently
completed the Allstate Sales
Training course which was held
for two weeks at the Allstate
Southern Zone headquarters in
Atlanta, Georgia.
Cooke is a graduate of Kings
Mountain High School and
Miller Mottle Business College.
Cooke will work at the Sears
store located at 121 West War-
ren Street in Shelby, North
Carolina. The new agent is offer-
ing a full circle of protection in-
cluding homeowners, life, auto,
business insurance and motor
club. He is also a representative
of Allstate Finance.

On Display
Exhibits to be featured in
Cleveland Technical College’s
galler during November and
December include a
photography show and an ex-
hibit of mixed media works by
continuing education students.
Color and black/white
photographs by Elwin Stilwell,
Tech’s photography instructor,
will hang in the lower gallery.
Works by students of Linda Put-
nam, continuing education in-
structor, will be exhibited in the
upper gallery.
Both shows will be on public
display November 1 through
December 15. Gallery Hours are
8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday thru
Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sacred Heart
Bazaar Slated
November 12 has been set as
the date for the annual Sisters of
Mercy bazaar at Sacred Heart
College in Belmont. Hours are
from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The Sacred Heart bazaar is held
for the benefit of the building
fund and to supplement the,
many charitable works of the
Sisters of Mercy.
The dinner served from 4:30
p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the col-
lege dining room offers a choice
of meats (ham, chicken and
beef), vegetables, rice and
potatoes along with hors
d’oeuvres and a choice of
desserts. Coffee, tea, milk and
soft drinks are available as well ~
as snacks all day. The cost of the
Smorgasboard dinner will be
$5.00 for adults and $2.50 for
children.
Bazaar attractions include
mercicraft, linen booth, hosiery,
cosmetics, handmade gifts and
clothing, toys and dolls, sundries
and Christmas decorations and
cards, a white elephant booth
and many other attractions.
Door prize will be a check for
$500.00.
One of the best features of the
bazaar is that no matter in what
way you may have been
associated with Sacred Heart
through the years or in the pre-
sent you will meet many of your
friends here because it is indeed a
homecoming day. Everyone is
invited to attend the bazaar.
