Kiwanis Travelogue Film Slated Argentina; the mention of that country and some typical images flash in our minds: Gauchos, the Pampas, the Andes Mountains, Buenos Aires. These are the well known parts of Argentia. The Argentine will tell you that hisher country is neither New World nor Old, but the best of both. Argentine roots are in the cities and villages of Europe. Those roots have now spread out across the wide-open land that begins in a tropical forest and ends in Antarctic seas. From the majestic Andes Mountains in the west to the east coast Atlantic Ocean. Argentina is as urban as Buenos Aires with chic elegant shops and as wide open as the Gauchos barbequed beef. Not only the beauty of the land and the excitement of the many people, but some of the wildlife is unique to Argentina: beautiful birds, armadillos, sea elephants. A beautiful place. “Alluring Argentina” will be the title of the next Kiwanis Club Travelogue series November 8 at Barnes Auditorium. Tickets may be gotten at the door for $3.00 per adult, $2.00 student or season tickets are still available at Bridges Hardware for $10.00. After this November 8 film, the remaining two series will be March 27 “Wilderness Trails of Alaska” and April 19 “The Southern Orient”.
