Trip
Margaret Smith, employee of
Dellinger’s Jewelry Store in
Kings Mountain, is Nashville
Bound sometime later this
month. As winner of a local
radio station contest, she will
spend three days and nights in a
luxurious hotel, get tickets to see
the Grand Ole Opry, go on a
tour of Nashville, and receive
$100 in spending money.
Margaret, a native of Cher-
ryville, stated she had always
wanted to go to Nashville and
had always wanted to win
something, now she had both
wishes come true. She said she
loved all the country stars and
would enjoy seeing any of them,
but still remained a little partial
to Dolly and Waylon.

Few institutions have been the butt of as much abuse and derision as the church. Its first assignment
seemed to border on megalomania. To twelve unlettered fishermen, Jesus gave these instructions:
“Go ye therefore into all the world and preach the Gospel to every nation.’
to his players, he sent them out to win outnumbered, outweighed, outskilled. They were to take on
The church’s first days were crucial to its success and yet no sooner was it launched than it began
to have trouble. Twelve weak and irresolute men, who had fled from the scene of the crucifixion,
now feared for their own lives. But something happened. It not only survived but it began to move
forward. Now, 2,000 years later, it has outlasted every institution on earth and moves on to new
fields of conquest. ‘Don’t count the church out! Its founder said, “And lo, | am with you always,
even unto the end of the ages!”
