Herndon-Lowrance Couple
Exchange Marriage Vows
Donna Carol Herndon and
Barry Keith Lowrance exchang-
ed their marriage vows
November 26 at First Baptist
Church in Grover.
Rev. Dean Proctor, pastor of
Allen Memorial Baptist Church,
officiated. David Dingus,
organist, Lynn Rowland, pianist,
and Betty Houck, soloist,
presented a program of wedding
music.
The bride is the daughter of
Donald D. and Carolyn W.
Herndon of Route 1, Grover,
and the granddaughter of
William B. Wray of Kings
Mountain and the late Mary Ala
Wray, and Mr. and Mrs. David
G. Herndon Jr. of Grover. She is
a junior at Kings Mountain
High School, where she par-
ticipates in the Red Cross Club,
Pep Club, Future Business
Leaders of America and Broad-
casting Club.
The groom is the son of
Charles R. and Brenda D.
Lowrance of Greensboro,
formerly of Grover, and grand-
son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Welch and the late Mr.
and Mrs. William F. Lowrance.
He is employed at Easco Hand
Tool Company in Gastonia.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. Her cousin,
Sandy Etters, was Matron of
Honor. Sandy Blanton of
Grover was Maid of Honor and
bridesmaids were Lori Wray of
Blacksburg, S.C., Teresa Shirkey
and Donna Blackburn of Kings
Mountain and Renee Ward and
Linda Proctor of Grover.
Junior bridesmaids were Emi-
ly “Sissy” Shirkey of Kings
Mountain and Kelly Herndon of
Grover. Flower girl was Rea
Herndon of Grover and
ringbearer was Jason Wright of
Grover. Junior ushers were
Craig Herndon, brother of the
bride, and Dwayne Fowler,
cousin of the bride, of
Blacksburg, S.C. Crystal Ware of
Kings Mountain attended the
guest register.
Ushers were Richard Ellison,
Charles Welch, Mickey
Lowrance, brother of the groom,
and Scott Laughridge, all of
Kings Mountain, Gregg Moore
of Grover and Rick Renfroe of
Shelby.
Charles Lowrance was his
son’s best: man.
The bride’s parents hosted a
reception following the
ceremony in the church
fellowship hall. Following a wed-
ding trip to the North Carolina
mountains, the couple will reside
in Grover.
MRS. KEITH FIELDS
WED- Keith and Brenda Fields were married November 12 at
Boyce Memorial ARP Church. Linda McDaniel of Kings Moun-
tain was pianist for a program of wedding music and Rev.
William Tyson officiated. The groom's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Melvin Fields of Rock Hill, S.C.. The bride's parents were
Miss Juanita Palmer of Kings Mountain and Bently Dove of
Martinsburg, W. Va.
Annette Hinson Honored
At Tea November 19
On Saturday, November 19,
1983, Mrs. James Anthony, Jr.
and Mrs. Glee E. Bridges hosted
a tea honoring Miss Annette
Hinson. One hundred guests
called between the hours of four
and six. Mrs. Bridges greeted
guests at the front door and in-
vited them into the living room.
There Mrs. Anthony introduced
them to the receiving line which
was made up of the bride-lect,
her mother, Mrs. David Hinson,
her maternal grandmother, Mrs.
Annie Plyler, and Mrs. William
Eugene McCarter, mother of the
groom.

fruit arrangements. Tea and par-
ty pick-ups were served in the
dining room.
Those assisting the hostesses
were Mrs. Carl Fulton, Mrs. J.C.
Bridges, Mrs. Glee A. Bridges,
Miss Mae Hamrick, Ms. Jane
Shields, Mrs. Tim Gladden, and
Mrs. Jim McGinnis.
The hostesses presented the
bride with their wedding gift.
Miss Hinson of Shelby is the
bride-elect of William Eugene
McCarter, Jr. Their wedding will
take place December 3 at Boyce
Memorial ARP Church.

A bridal shower honoring
Carol Herndon, bride<lect of
Barry Lowrance, was held at the
home of Mrs. Peggy Jackson on
Katherine Avenue on November
18.
Guests showered Miss Hern-
don with miscellaneous gifts for
her home. The party was from 7
until 8:30 p.m.
Hostesses were Mrs. Peggy
Jackson, the bride’s aunt, and
Mrs. Sandy Etters, the bride’s
cousin.
Refreshments and punch were
served to the guests.

The Kings Mountain
Woman’s Club regular meeting
was held Monday, November
28th.
In the absence of President
Gerry Werner, Betty Gamble,
First Vice President, presided.
Mrs. P.E. Hendricks reported
on the up<oming luncheon for
Senior Citizens to be held Fri-
day, December 2 at 12 o’clock
noon in lieu of the regular
December meeting.
The program “The Friendship
Force Speaks” was presented by
several ambassadors of Friend-
ship Force from Kings Moun-
tain to Holland. Betty Gamble,
Peggy Baird, Anita Campbell,
Wanza Davis and Connie Phifer
shared slides and experiences
participated in with the families
they were assigned to live with
while in Holland.
Hostess for the evening were
Mrs. David Brinkley, Mrs. Hallie
Blanton, Mrs. Hall Goforth,
Mrs. Ruth piper, Mrs. N.H. Kel-
ly, Mrs. Bradine Tyner.
HOT DOG SALE
A hot dog sale, sponsored by
the Order of Rainbow for Girls
of Kings Mountain, Assembly
50, will be held Saturday from
