December 15, 1983 rd KRISTIN FEEMSTER Kristin Wins Baby Title Kristin Nicole Feemster, daughter of Clinton and Carrie Feemster of Kings Mountain, was crowned Tiny Miss North and South Carolina in America’s Little Mr. and Miss Pageant Southern States Regional pageant at Atlanta Airport Hilton in Hapeville, Ga. recent- ly. Kristin, who is ten months old, was competing in the 0-3 year old age category. She is now entitled to enter the national competition representing North Carolina which will be held in June 1984. CHRIS LAWSON Chris Celebrates Birthday Christopher Steven Lawson, son of Phillip and Debra Lawson of 933 Church St. celebrated his * second birthday Tuesday, Dec. 13th. Chris is grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Lawson, Sr. and great-grandson of Jonas and Willie Weight and Ada Lawson. A decorated birthday cake was cut and served with refreshments. Young Finishes Crewman Course Pvt. Jeffery R. Young, son of Roosevelt T. Ingram of Kings Mountain, N.C., and Lucy M. Young of 203-2 E. Davidson Ave., Gastonia, N.C., has graduated from a combat track- ed vehicle crewman course at the U.S. Army Combat Engineer School, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. During the 15-week course, crewman are trained in basic operation and maintenance of the combat engineer vehicle, ar- mored vehicle launched bridge, and the integral weapons and communication systems in the vehicles. Coon Finishes USAF Course Staff Sgt. Charles A. Coon, in of Charles H. Coon of 508 N. 14th St., Bessemer City, N.C., has graduated from the U.S. Air Force weather technician course at Chanute Air Force Base, Ill. During the course, students were taught to prepare and issue Woother forecasts and to present weather briefings. They also earned credits toward an associate through the degree Community College of the Air Force. Coon 1s scheduled to serve at Andrews Air Force Base, Md. He is a 1970 graduate of Bessemer City High School. a8 A, Firemen Answer Four Calls Kings Mountain firemen ex- tinguished four blazes during the past week. On December 8, they put out a small grass fire on North Pied- mont Avenue and stood by at a wreck at the corner of West Gold and Bridges Drive.
