Pruette, Paul Owens, and Jim Crawford. The zoning ordinances comp- ly with all state ordinances but according to officials the biggest problems are in administering them in the.communities. The zoning maps were also updated in 1948 and in 1968 and 1976. “This new “baby” shows a lot of growth in the Kings Moun- tain city and perimeter area since 1976”, said Griffin, who said the committees were quite proud of the work being done in’ these areas. In other actions, the board established a Human Resources Committee to be made up of volunteer citizens and set April 8-14 and Sept. 16-22 as Clean- Up Fix UP Weeks in Kings Mountain and named Commis- sioner Norman King as overall chairman. The state Department of Transportation is sponsoring a similar - observance in whicle citizens are invited and en- couraged to clean up properties during Spring and Fall. The board of commissioners approved final plans for develop- ment of Parcel No. 76 which was recently purchased by Eddie Huffstetler from the city for $800 at the northeast corner if King and Cansler Street and is part of the urban renewal development program. Mr. Huf- fstetler plans to build a conve- nience store estimated 10 cost $40,000. The brick building will have a glass front. Gene White, Executive Direc- tor of Community Development Program, emphasized again that the Farmers Home Administra- tion is offering to those who qualify a one percent to three percent low interest loan for rehabilitation of homes, in- cluding painting and weatheriza- tion. He said that his office volunteered to ‘get the word out” and are screening ap- plicants. Citizens on fixed in- comes less thatn $10,000 qualify. White pointed out that this is one function of a human resources committee in town- to give citizens information on pro- grams available to those in need. Mayor John Moss said he is most concerned about this group of citizens and this is just one of the ways a human sources com- mittee may help fellow citizens and neighbors. The commissioners set March 12th at 7:30 p.m. for public hear- ing on preliminary assessment roll for the street inprovement project on Guyton Loop on Church Street to Church Street, Merrimont Avenue from Gar- rison Drive to end of street and Belvedere Circle from Watterson Street to Watterson Street.
