Promotes
Hunnicutt
Harold Richard (Dick) Hun-
nicutt, Jr., 45, son of Mrs.
Margaret Neisler Hunnicutt of
Kings Mountain and the late
Harold R. Hunnicutt, Sr., has
been named president of Tultex
Corporation and chief operating
officer of the holding company
in Martinsville, Va.
A native of Kings Mountain,
Hunnicutt co-founded King
Mill, Inc. in Kings Mountain in
1967. Before that he had been
with Parkdale Mills, Inc. of
Gastonia for five years. He join-
ed Tultex in 1973 when Kings
Mill merged into Tultex. After
the merger he was named presi-
dent of Tultex Yarns, which
operated six mills in North
Carolina.
In 1977 he was named vice
president of the corporation and
in 1981 he was elected to the
board of directors and named
senior vice president.
Hunnicutt earned a bachelor
of arts degree in business ad-
ministration from Belmont Ab-
bey College and graduated
Magna Cum Laude with a B.S.
degree in textile technology from
N.C. State University. He also is
affiliated with several textile and
yarn spinning professional
associations.
Hunnicutt and his wife, the
former Esther Reid Adams, have
three sons and live in Gastonia.
Hunnicutt is now commuting to
Martinsville but will eventually
will be moving to Virginia.
Tultex Corp. is a Martinsville-
based holding company that
operates apparel, fabric and yarn
businesses in Virginia and North
Carolina and a factoring sub-
sidiary in New York City.
Blair
To Speak
To KMWC
Dr. Charles Blair, Kings
Mountain dentist, will be guest
speaker at Monday night’s
meeting of the Kings Mountain
Woman’s Club at 7:45 p.m. at
the Woman'’s Club.
Dr. Blair will speak on the
topic, “Money Dynamics.” Dr.
Blair has written several papers
and books on the subject of sav-
ing money with suggestions on
income tax preparations.
The Board of Directors will
meet at 7 p.m.
Revival
Services
To Begin
Revival services will be held at
East Gold Street Wesleyan
Church beginning Monday,
March 26th, and continuing
through April 1 at 7 p.m. each
evening.
Rev. John Harris will be the
visiting evangelist. Services on
Sunday will be at 11 a.m. and 6
p.m.
Rev. George D. Simmons,
pastor, and members of the con-
gregation invite the community
to worship with them in the
special series of services.
Rally Day
On Sunday
Sunday School Rally Day will
be held Sunday morning, March
25th, beginning at 10 a.m. and
continuing until 11 a.m. at East
Gold Street Wesleyan Church.
The Singing Towers of
Oakboro will be guests for the
rally.
Rev. George D. Simmons and
the congregation invite the com-
munity to attend.
