Earns Superior Rating The Community School’s Mighty Mountaineer Col- orguard received a superior rating in their first competition Saturday, April 7th, at Hunter Huss High School in Gastonia. The competition was part of a series presented by the Carolina All American ‘Music In Motion competitions. A superior rating Church Of God To Honor Minister Rev. Kenneth R. Looney, Sr., pastor of Kings Montain Church of God at lll E. Parker Street, will be honored this Sunday by his congregation a day designated as ‘Pastor Apprecia- tion Day.” Looney is married to the former Phyllis Bumgarner and the father of four sons, Michael Looney of Winston Salem, Ray Looney of Roswell, Ga., Phillip Looney of Pontiac, Michigan and David Looney of Cleveland, Tn. Rev. Mr. Looney has served two years and 10 months as pastor of Kings Mountain Church of God and is active in community affairs. He is cur- rently serving as chairman of the Kings Mountain Cemetery Com- mittee. REV. Tryouts Scheduled Tryouts for the Kings Moun- tain Little Theatre’s musical pro- dution of “The Fantasticks” will be held at the Parkgrace Auditorium Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. All candidates are encouraged to bring music for these audi- tions. The Kings Mountain Little Theatre is funded in part by a Grassroots Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.
