Lynn Anderson, 10, of
Shelby, was recently awarded
the Very Important Person of
the month for Aprii by the
Clevland county Girls Club. She
is the daughter of Milton and
Nedra Chatelain and is in the
fifth grade at Graham School.
She received the VIP Award for
her willingness to help others in
Girl Of Month
Sharma Mack,13,0f Shelby,
was the recipient of the Girl of
the Month Award from
Cleveland County . Girls Club.
She is the daughter of Cathy
Lawton and is a seventh grader
at Shelby Junior High School.
Sharma received the award for
participating in club activities in-
cluding child care, ‘I Like Me’
class, and CAPS class.

tain Junior High and son of Norman and Frankie Webster, plac-
ed third in the Junior Physics Division of the Regional Science
Fair at Lenoir Rhyne College at Hickory last week. Webster is

for a dinner<dance on Saturday,
Dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
followed by dancing from 9 p.m.
until 1 a.m., according to Club
Manager Butch Broome.
Advance reservations are re-
quired for dinner. Tickets for
dinner and the dance are $22 per
couple. Tickets for the dance on-
ly are $10 couple. The menu will
include rib-eye steaks with baked
potatoes, salad and rolls.
Manager Broome encourages
those planning to purchase din-
ner tickets to get them early
from him at the Post Building.

Sabucco, vice president; and Rodrick ‘Boyce, secretary-treasurer.
Monday through Wednesday of this week, a fund-raising drive was
held for the American Cancer Society. Kings Mountain High School is
the only school in the state which helps raise money for the cancer
society. In the last two years, KMHS has contributed around $1,600 boys’ solid dress shirts, Men's sizes 14% to 17 and
3 S,M,L.XL. Boys’ sizes 8 to 18.
Kathy Goforth’s Business Law class went to the Cleveland County
courthouse Tuesday to observe a court case. It was a worthwhile field : i £3 4 A. J
