x: 5 CHES i ne _ Lineberger Wins DAR Honor Achievement Ribbon Air Force ROTC Cadet Barry M. Lineberger received the Daughters of the American Revolution Award and the AFROTC Academic Achieve- ment Honors Ribbon during AFROTC Parent’s Day ceremonies Sunday, April 15 at North Carolina State University. The Daughters of the American Revolution present an award annually to an Air Force ROTC senior at each of the 150 detachments nationwide who has achieved a ranking within the top quarter of his or her ROTC and university classes, and who has demonstrated qualities of citizenship, leader- ship and character throughout his or her ROTC training. The honors ribbon is awarded RUSSELL KISER Russell Celebrates Birthday Russell Randall Kiser, son of Dan and Hilda Kiser of Kings Mountain, celebrates his third birthday, Thurs., Apr. 26. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kiser and Mrs. Nell Lowery, all of Kings Mountain, and the great-grandson of Mrs. Annie Short of Grover and Tom ' Lowery of Shelby. A family birthday party will be held and Russell will cut a decorated cake. REV. ALFRED WRIGHT Oak View Revival Scheduled Oak View Baptist Church of Kings Mountain will hold its spr ing revival services April 29 through May 4th at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The Rev. Alfred Wright, formerly of Kings Mountain, will be the guest evangelist. Special singing will be featured during the services and a nursery will be provided. IT'S A GIRL Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bunch an- nounce the birth of a daughter, Rebekah Hord, April 10 at Ran- dolph Hospital, Asheboro. Grandparents are Mrs. DF. Hord of Kings Mountain and the late Dr. Hord, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Maddox. Great- grandmother is Mrs. John Byron Keeter of Kings Mountain. Rebekah has a sister, Molly, age two. Her mother is the former Nancy Hord of Kings Mountain. GOSPEL SING The Royals, named the na- tion’s top gospel music group at the 1982 National Quartet Con- vention, will perform Sunday at 7 p.m. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. The public is invited. for academic excellence signified by achieving an overall B or bet- ter for two continuous semesters and at least a B-plus in Air Force ROTC during the same period. Lineberger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Lineberger, Rt. 2, Dallas, is a 1979 graduate of Kings Mountain Senior High School. He is a member of the Pi Tau Sigma Honorary Mechanical Engineering Society, the Military Order of World Wars, and the Arnold Air Socie- ty. He also belongs to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
