Miss Eva Yvonne McKinney of Kings Mountain has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the N.C. Association of In- surance Agents. Miss McKinney is one of 45 students throughout North Carolina to receive this award for the 1984-85 school year. Robert G. Cabaniss In- surance Agency, Inc. sponsored Miss McKinney as an applicant to the program. These awards are presented annually by the Association to students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement and the need for additional funds Memorials were offered for teachers and classmates: Miss Janet Scoggins, Miss Helen * Logan, Bonnie McIntosh, Evelyn Edens Hawkins, Katherine Hill Ramsey, Sylvia Randall Allen and Carolyn Max- ine Morris York. All classmates signed a card in remembering Malcolm Patterson, who was ill. Mr. Patterson passed away Sun- day afternoon. Millard Prince of Hollywood, Fla., came the longest distance. Others attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. B.N. Barnes of Lumberton, Mr. and Attending from Kings Mou tain were Mr. and Mrs. Doy Falls, Mr. and Mrs. I.C. Davi Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Sprouse, Mr. and Mrs. Robe Whitesides, Mrs. Roberta 1 Ellison and Miss Bessi to continue their education.
